Switch to standard time on January 1, so you have an hour more New Year's eve partying. Switch to daylight time on January 2 because you have had most of a day to recover.

Hell yeah.  I don't care which one you pick, just fricken pick one.  I've always hated the time changes.

/ then again, that's how I got to work at 7 AM
// Year 1: get to work at 8 AM.  Rest of the country thinks it's still 9 AM, dumshiats
/// Year 2:  get to work at 7 AM.  Rest of the country thinks it's still 8AM, hah!
//// Year 3:  get to work at 6 AM.  Going home at 2:30 PM turns out to be Not A Good Thing (tm).

If there was a petition to abolish the GOP I would sign it.

As long as we standardize on the one that starts later I'm fine with this.

As much as I love getting that extra hour of sleep for the few days it takes me internal clock to adjust, the 'spring forward' is a PITA.

Even better let's just 'fall back' every year without ever springing forward.  We'd be a nocturnal society 12 years in, which would jive well with my body's natural rhythms that seem to want to go to bed around 7am and wake up around 4pm.

Move to Arizona.

I think we should randomize the day and number of hours that we do this each year.

It would keep everyone on their toes and be fun for the kids!

What about people that don't need to ruin their bodies with alcohol? We should be catering to alcoholics?

Then you hate DST, as it is about to start.  You love Standard time.

Let's just stay on the same time standard as the rest of the world and be done with it

/either that or equip every time sensitive electronic device with a single +/- one hour button

Can you imagine the modern Republican outrage if the government just now announced they were going to change everyone's clocks twice a year? Can you imagine anyone's outrage? How frickin' stupid is DST anyway? Screw you Ben Franklin. I'll kick you in the nuts when I see you in Hell.

"Spring Forward" is a liberal plot to make everyone miss church so the lamestream MSM media can get video of empty pews to put on the newscasts *and* so the shadow army of gays can sneak up on the poor, befuddled folk woefully trying to open locked chapel doors and kidnap them and whisk them off to their reeducation camps in Key West for forced dance, fashion and sodomy lessons and oh please I hope I get a cute one and why are my pants so tight....

I sleep later in the summer and work later.

In the winter I get up earlier and try to get done earlier.

So Daylight Savings Time doesn't really affect me.

We should either eliminate DST [Fark you]  or make it the year-round standard time for the whole country [Ding Ding Ding!]

2013-03-06 02:31:40 AM
I prefer DST to non-DST. Can we just shift everything to DST? That extra hour of evening is a godsend.

We have Greenwich Mean Time already. Doesn't mean people want to use it if it means finding themselves waking up at 2 PM to go to work.

I don't give a fark if we decide the sun comes up at 11 PM and sets at one in the afternoon. Just make up your damn minds and stick with it.

/fark DST
//fark "spring forward", ya bastards already tax my money, don't tax my time too

At least I'll get a day to adjust before having to be at classes an hour earlier... so it'll just feel like 11 am instead of noon...

I work midnights/weekends...SO I skip over an hour of work....

ZAZ: Switch to standard time on January 1, so you have an hour more New Year's eve partying. Switch to daylight time on January 2 because you have had most of a day to recover.

You obviously have no understanding of how Daylight Savings Time works.  When the Sun shines upon Earth, 2 - major Time points are created on opposite sides of Earth - known as Midday and Midnight. Where the 2 major Time forces join, synergy creates 2 new minor Time points we recognize as Sunup and Sundown. The 4-equidistant Time points can be considered as Time Square imprinted upon the circle of Earth. In a single rotation of the Earth sphere, each Time corner point rotates through the other 3-corner Time points, thus creating 16 corners, 96 hours and 4-simultaneous 24 hour Days within a single rotation of Earth - equated to a Higher Order of Life Time Cube.

Have you ever driven across the US? I did in 2011, and I never really adjusted to the time change as we moved around. I got up at 7 am in Seattle because it felt like 10 am back home, my normal wake up time (work from home with no real morning commitments, don't judge). So in ~2 weeks potential, I did not adjust in reality, only in appearance...
