Its a hoax, since I"m sure he also learned to go to a hotel if conditions became to rough.

I'm not going to say he drank his own piss to survive, but he drank his own piss to survive.

Can't tell you how long I've been misspelling that word. I don't know that I've ever used it much since I'm in the south and don't have access to a boat, but I do like snow...

According to the arricle the kid made a shelter out of branches and drank from a stream.

Yeah, that Bear Grylls really teaches you stuff eh.

I believe it said he made an igloo.  Or most likely, just a hole in the snow.  Then used branches as cover.  That's not a bad way to go and most people are too stupid to realize that a snow cavern is a lot warmer than standing outside in the elements.  If the show gave him the idea then it worked.

Probably not an igloo, yeah.

But there is an entire website dedicated to explaining how following some of Grylls' suggestions can get you killed, and how fake the show is.

And drinking water from a stream? As opposed to from a stick?

Let's get this right.
They named their precious widdle snowflake JOY?
and when he had to survive his own STUPIDITY, he has to drink his own piss?
brb... gotta pee.
ok back, and having a beer because I'm thirsty and don't want to drink my own pee.

This kid's dad is a class A dumass and needs a kick in the nuts for not teaching him NOT to do stupid stuff.
Hey. We all make mistakes.
Who amongst us has not clicked on the fatal link that cost us our entire OS and back up at one time?

But naming your child JOY?

I bet her even has shaitty ink to commemorate it.

I knew a Joy. I had no problem with her name. Anyway it's not his first name. If Joy had been this guy's first name, we could criticize his parents.

Article said snow cave. I think I remember seeing Grylls making one on his show. Branches on the inside to get your body off the snow is a good idea for insulation.

Confirmed: The crew, unable to find a tame bear to stage the scene, had a crew member crawl around in a bear suit.

And drinking water from a stream? As opposed to from a stick?

I think it's instead of eating snow.  It's an obvious water source because it's all around you, but eating it can be problematic as it can lower your body temperature.

I like all of them. As a kid I grew up playing in the woods. Since I'm 25 and don't live around enough trees to not look like a psycho climbing them, I'll have to settle for survivor TV shows. Maybe one day I'll be less broke and get the chance to camp in some of these awesome locations..
