Those armed guards were there to prevent civilians from putting those lions in their soup.

You know, I heard that song and I think it was best that they didn't include it on "The Wall" even though they printed they lyrics.  I think they did use in the film.

Giving the lions a Chinese buffet, then taking it away?  Not cool.

I'd like to know about their tactics. Here in the USA the police quickly shoot any escaped dangerous animals to death.
We're always told that tranquilizers can't be used because of A, B & C, but it seemed to work in this instance.

Genuinely curious.

Bermuda59: Wondering where the lions are

Some kinda ecstasy got a hold on me. Excellent reference!

In the movie "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight", the local mafia had a lion in a warehouse basement, that they would feed their victims to. They got caught because no one would go down there and clean up all the lion shiat. So I feel kinda bad for the janitor who left the gate open. He probably had other things on his mind.

Here in Seattle, cops would shot them dead NOW.

I'll bet the lions were contaminated by lead.

Yep, Chinese zoos are depressing.  American zoos weren't too different 40 years ago.  Just don't go looking for info on the tiger wine factory zoos, that makes those cages look humane.

I worked at a zoo years ago. They had a story about how one of the more energetic lions got out and all she wanted to do was go back in again. The exhibit was huge (the place was run by a vet who loved animals) and she was really unnerved by being in the wrong place. So she was pacing back and forth by the fence looking into the exhibit for a way to return. They darted her and she did them no kindness by passing out in a thatch of poison oak. She died of a peaceful old age over a decade later.
