Groups like ACORN never shut down. They merely shift, shape-change, transform and transmogrify into something else, something different, something the same and yet even more sinister than their previous incarnation. They are like the hydra of mythology, which when you killed it would simply burst from its own ashes into an even greater and more powerful form. Do you think it was by chance that they named themselves ACORN? No, subby. There is no chance, there is only dark purpose. For what happens when you crack an acorn? When it falls to the earth, defeated, toppled from its lofty height? I'll tell you what happens. The acorn grows, subby. It grows into a mighty oak tree that someday -- maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday -- will dwarf everything around it. Will consume all in its path. And will finally, in the end, topple upon you, killing you dead.

Think on this a moment, subby. I don't want to scare you, that's not what I do, but I do want you to think. Who funded ACORN? That's right, Soros. Now, look at Soros' name.

Soros. Spell it backwards, now: soroS. It's the same thing. That's called an onomotopeea, and it's a harbinger of great power. It symbolizes a power, an evil, so great and so insidious that it as strong in retreat as it is in advance. Perhaps, in fact, even stronger: do you see how the last S is capitalized now when you reverse it? That means it just sort of slinks along with little letters and then, out of nowhere, STRIKES with great power when you think it is weak. And so too with our acorn, which you think has fallen. Which you think is defeated. But look, here on the ground, closer. Come closer.

BAM. Just like that, subby. You're dead.

A new short-term budget bill introduced on Monday by House Republicans includes a bizarre provision banning federal funding to anti-poverty group ACORN, despite the fact that the group has already been stripped of federal funding -- and has been defunct for nearly three years.

well now they're DOUBLE de-funded, so there!

It's all so they can go back to their brain-dead constituents and tell them how they are protecting American from Communist Socialist takers.

I demand that the House GOP also include a provision defunding the Works Progress Administration.

Defund that biatch a couple more time and BAM! No deficit left!

Does writing like that for the talking heads pay well? I wanted to get into conspiracy theorizing but it looks hard to go from amateur to professional.

Congress defunding ACORN based upon that little shiat O'Keefe's highly edited video tapes was a sad sad day for America. I cannot express how pissed I was/am about the whole thing.

2013-03-05 01:11:21 PM
Yes, but given that what, 40% of Republicans think that Obama stole the 2012 election?  Adding a sop about ACORN is going to get someone some representatives some additional campaign donations.

2013-03-05 01:11:57 PM
"Shutdown" does not mean "not funded anymore". Where else do you think the black ops budget comes from?

2013-03-05 01:12:19 PM
As much as we ridicule the GOP, it's not nearly done as much as the GOP deserves.

This is why I'm tired of Republicans playing the "you think your better than us?" elitist card. Yes. We ARE better than you. Not every Republican is a stupid ignoramus, but pick any random stupid ignoramus and the odds favor him being a Republican. If he's also a racist, homophobe, xenophobe or sexist, the odds are overwhelming.

There truly is no limit in my eyes. Michelle Bachmann (from the house intelligence committee ran on a platform that the "Soviet Union" was still a valid threat to US stability.

I've just been scanning this and the Menendez threads for dark grey, my color for the true derpers.

Funny how they haven't been showing up.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have earmarked funds to root out Soviet sleeper agents still operating within the US, all based on these her story.

And goddamn it, they're banning the transfer of Gitmo detainees to US (likely Supermax) prisons again.

We can hold Timmy McVeigh and all sorts of domestic terrorists, but these foreign ones are just too pantswetting inducing, super power laden to have on US shores.

The GOP makes them out to as The Joker, Lex Luther, or Venom every time it gets brought up, and then blames the president.

Be fair, blaming the president is their default state. At this point it's essentially a nervous tic for Republicans.

The Joker and Luthor aren't actually difficult to hold. The Venom symbiote, however, can change shape and density. Much harder to imprison.

I used to believe that there was such a thing as rock bottom, for this party, but I didn't consider the possibility that they'd bring drills to the occasion.

ACORN (funding) - ACORN (funding) = 0
0 - ACORN = -ACORN
-ACORN =  NO OAK TREES
NO OAK TREES is an acronym for OK eTREASON. In other words, it's OK for drone pilots (using electronic controllers) to attack American Patriot targets.
Pray for our troops :(
