The important thing to take away from this whole thing is that the school administrators. were able to avoid using any critical thinking skills.  All guns are bad and anyone who so much as sees one (or a poor replica) should be traumatized and need psychological counseling.

What else world you expect out of program run by the government; staffed by career politicians, bureaucrats and  unionized government employees whose own qualification courses on education have nothing to do with the real world?  Plus they fight tooth and nail against any performance metric for themselves.

It's really funny to take school security as a joke, because there's never been any reason to think otherwise.

Amazing.  We're raising children with the belief that if it looks like a gun it's an honest to god threat and those who see it need counselling.  The scary part is that we're going to leave the future of this planet to these kids we're farking up.

You know, if we've gotten to this point, then maybe we as a culture have gotten to soft and weak.  Maybe we need to stop the direction we're heading and tell children and adults "Seriously, you're traumatized by that???  Put on your big girl pants and move the hell on."  Or think of it this way, would we rather our children be raised to be the ones who piss their pants when they see their shadow and seek counselling, or should we start raising our children to be Ron Swanson like individuals?  I'm voting for Ron Swansons.

I have - twice - and I agree with him.

And then I eat the pastry, thus disarming him.

ADHD kid playing around and making "inappropriate gestures" with a pastry that looked like a gun (something that doesn't seem to be mentioned in the school board's letter for some odd reason).  Why do I think there is more to this story that the father doesn't want us to hear for fear of making his precious snowflake look less precious and snowflake-y?  You know, like that kid who was suspended for singing I'm sexy and I know it, only to turn out later that the little brat had been harassing the girl for some time.
