The complete and utter fail involved in putting together a list like this and not including  Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins  is awe-inspiring. In some cultures, a mandatory suicide would be necessary and expected.

its a real shame that there were never and sequels to The Matrix. I always thought that after Neo becomming The One and people still trapped in the matrix that there was more story to tell.

I have explained the same thing to my kids.
1 matrix movie
Star wars and 2 sequels
now my daughter is older, I have also explained that Anne Rice only wrote 1 book.

But back to the sucky list which sucks. It sucks and is a list of crap which shouldn't have been made in the first place let alone have a sequel (except for Incredibles, which should have been made but any sequels would probably been turd sandwiches minus the bread)

/the son eventually found 3 extra starwars films, I tried to explain it was fan fiction but he wasn't convinced.

I feel the same way about Highlander.

/There can be only one.

Highlander ended appropriately. Connor MacLeod was the last living Immortal, and he claimed the Prize, became mortal and was able to father children. The story was finished at that time, which is why no sequels were ever created.

I remember when I saw Escape from LA in the movies, at the end it said Join us next year for Escape from Mars. That never happened and it was removed from the movie.

I saw Watcher in the Woods for the first time, and not only is there a wide door open for a sequel, the movie hardly even has an ending.

Dr Dreidel: Saiga410: Has McDowell ever been in a decent movie or TV show outside of his one hit movie?

Saiga410: Tyrone Slothrop: ProdigalSigh: Pocket Ninja: The complete and utter fail involved in putting together a list like this and not including  Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins  is awe-inspiring. In some cultures, a mandatory suicide would be necessary and expected.

It always seemed to me that Remo Williams was meant to be the precursor for a TV show, not a movie series.

Now I need to watch Buckaroo Banzai again.

Just in case you didn't know, there was a Remo Williams TV show, with Malcolm McDowell as Chiun. It sucked.

Has McDowell ever been in a decent movie or TV show outside of his one hit movie?  (please overlook his very good voice over career)

I don't know which "one hit movie" you're talking about, so I'll mention A Clockwork Orange and 2007's Halloween. He was also in Tank Girl, Caligula, Milk Money, The Player and Blue Thunder, but those aren't hits (maybe Tank Girl for the cult status?), or his roles aren't that big (I haven't seen any of those latter films save for Tank Girl).

Roddy McDowall played Chiun in the TV show, not Malcolm McDowell.

You get no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I hated that movie so much I wished for anyone that might even mention it to get a kick in the balls so that its very existence can be wiped from the face of the earth.

SuperChuck: A better list would be movies that left absolutely no opening for a sequel but they went ahead and made one (or more) anyway.

Too many to make a list from. That would be like listing the "best" grains of sand on a beach or the most inane pop songs.

to this day, I watch that movie the whole way through if I see it on tv.

agreed on the Incredibles.  I want a sequel, but it didn't set up for one other than the mystery that is Jack Jack.
