Can't believe Blade Runner hasn't been mentioned yet. I mean, the filmmakers didn't actually imply a sequel, but we all want to know what happens to Deckard & Rachel when Gaff is ordered to retire them.

And Malcolm McDowell was also in "If", "Get Crazy", and "Time after time" - all of them worth watching.

"If' for the scenes of english public-school discipline.
"Get Crazy" for Electric Larry and Lou Reed
"Time after time" also has David Warner and Mary Steenburgen

Teambaylagoon: Oh Golden Compass... oh you had so much promise..

dababler: Damn Catholic and fundie Xian protests.

It didn't need help shooting itself in the feet. I think there was a fundamental disunity of vision going into the production -- they weren't quite sure what age group they were aiming for.

There were plenty of scenes that were downright cartoonish and could only have worked in a kid's movie. At the same time, the book is frightfully dark and better suited for the young adult crowd than the pre-12 crowd.

First movie I paid (out the nose, I might add) to see in theatres on opening night in a long time. What a disappointment.

Actually, you might not have to wait too long for the sequel:

Joe Peanut: Goonies 2: because the original left so many unanswered questions!

The Goonies never really set itself up for a sequel. Though I am surprised that a sequel or remake has yet to be attempted.

yes.

And while I'm not a fan of the recent remake trend, I think the original would be good source material for modern day update.

/The Incredibles ended on a perfect note. Leave it that way.

I'm still waiting for a sequel to Leon (The Professional) with the girl as a grown up assassin.

Also, TFA failed for listing Daredevil.  It did get a sequel, right away, starring Jennifer Garner, and sucking horribly.

There are, IF you can overlook the MYST-quality bluescreen effects. I lasted all of 40 minutes before I shut it off.

I hated that movie so much I wished for anyone that might even mention it to get a kick in the balls so that its very existence can be wiped from the face of the earth.

Yeah, I watched it the other day and by the end, I was ready to kick myself in the balls.

Skyline was that movie that should have began 10 minutes from when it ended.  It wasted too much time on Beautiful People (even though the lead was one of those So Beautiful It Hurts French-Spanish looking dudes).  Then the hero got fked up, and it started to get interesting................................. scene.  Fk that movie :(

This also applies to The Cave.

I'm still waiting on Mortal Kombat 2.

The thing that got me about that sequel was that in Daredevil it was a 'real world' universe where a guy develops super hearing, something not wildly unbelievable. Then in the Garner film we suddenly had tattoos that could come to life and invisible ninjas and shiat. It didn't make sense that they were in the same universe.

A relative who works in the biz, says Bird refuses to do / allow sequels to his work.

So does this mean there won't be an M:I 5?  I'd be okay with that.

You do have to wonder what Bird's future in animated features will be like now that he's done a live action film and is slated for a couple more.  Something like The Incredibles 2 would probably require a 4-5 year commitment.  So it's reasonable to think he'd stay in live action for a while since he could potentially work on more projects.

It's one of the few movies I've watched that had me shouting "You have GOT to be kidding me!" and "Movie bad!" at the ending.

ThatBillmanGuy: I guess A Series of Unfortunate Events wasn't popular enough to make this list.

Worst movie ever made. Standard by which all other bad movies are measured. Your efforts to convince otherwise are pointless.

For a sense of measure, 'Enchanted' twitched the Snicketometer.

I think we can both agree that all three movies are considered the worst movies ever

RiffTrax is not listing worst films, it is listing most hated films, which is not showing the same thing. THere is allot of bias to more recent movies in any vote like that.

You really need a set of non-biased judges who have to watch, and carefully evaluate all the films to judge which is worse.  But I will say this, I own a copy of Plan 9 and have seen Battlefield Earth, and Plan 9 is worse, much.

The plot of Battlefield Earth makes more sense, and the special effects are decent for their day as opposed to plan 9's special effects.

He's only in it for maybe 15 minutes bookending the flashback, but Malcolm McDowell does great, great work as "Old Paul Bettany" in Gangster No. 1. Highly entertaining British crime movie - especially recommended for fans of The Long Good Friday, Michael Caine's Get Carter, and Bronson.

As far as movies that were set up for sequels but never got them, I see that all of my favorites have already been hit: Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (it's right there in the title!), Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, which had only about A 20 NOVEL SERIES to draw from, and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, which had way too awesome of a cast to be used only once.

Making the Grade ... In the closing it says something to the affect to look for Eddie and Palmer in the next movie. Never happened.

//Yes it's a real movie and yes I thought it was funnier than hell.
