The complete and utter fail involved in putting together a list like this and not including  Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins  is awe-inspiring. In some cultures, a mandatory suicide would be necessary and expected.

Agreed, but they get points for including the 1998 Godzilla.

its a real shame that there were never and sequels to The Matrix. I always thought that after Neo becomming The One and people still trapped in the matrix that there was more story to tell.

Add another to the List fails without Remo group

I have explained the same thing to my kids.
1 matrix movie
Star wars and 2 sequels
now my daughter is older, I have also explained that Anne Rice only wrote 1 book.

But back to the sucky list which sucks. It sucks and is a list of crap which shouldn't have been made in the first place let alone have a sequel (except for Incredibles, which should have been made but any sequels would probably been turd sandwiches minus the bread)

/the son eventually found 3 extra starwars films, I tried to explain it was fan fiction but he wasn't convinced.

I know, they had plans to make a prequel and a sequel, but unfortunately that never got off the ground.  Would have been cool to hear the history of the matrix and see where the story would have gone now that Neo is The One.  Too bad the studio was a bunch of farktards and prevented that from happening...

Don't even get me started on the sequel to Ghostbusters that was supposed to be made, unfortunately they canned it for having just an AWFUL script and story...

Godzilla did get a sequel. But it was an animated TV series that dealt with exactly what they movie left us with. Baby Godzilla becoming a good monster and killing bad and alien monsters.

I give points on technical ability for including Night of the Creeps

FTA:   'The Underminder'

'Underminder'? Really? He's dressed as a miner. He came from underground. IMDB credits him as the Underminer. Which is a play on 'undermine'.  But you think he was called The Underminder?

And that wasn't a setup for a sequel. It was just showing that life went on and the Incredibles were now a team.

Blocked at work... I see from the comments that Remo Williams was missed, did they include Buckaroo Banzai? Because Buckaroo Banzai ENDS with an explicit promise of a sequel, if they missed including it the list is fail.

2013-03-05 09:24:07 AM
The only one I'd pay money to see is Buckaroo Banzai.

The producers of the Golden Compass gutted the important parts of the book because Evangelical Christianity, so I'm even clear how they would be able to do the planned sequels unless they were completely unrelated to the original story.  It's a shame, as the casting was good and the original screenplay was by Tom Stoppard.

to this day, I watch that movie the whole way through if I see it on tv.

agreed on the Incredibles.  I want a sequel, but it didn't set up for one other than the mystery that is Jack Jack.

Now I need to watch Buckaroo Banzai again.

A better list would be movies that left absolutely no opening for a sequel but they went ahead and made one (or more) anyway.

Yep. Never saw the end of Incredibles as setting up a sequel. It's just letting you know that life is back to how things were at the beginning of the movie where superheros are no longer banned.

Putting in setups for sequels to horror movies also don't count in my book. Horror movies almost always leave the possibility of a sequel open.

2013-03-05 09:47:01 AM
Lost in Space???

And there was a kind of sequel to the He-Man movie.  It was called Cyborg.  It was originally the sequel to He-Man, but at some point they removed every He-Man reference.

Just in case you didn't know, there was a Remo Williams TV show, with Malcolm McDowell as Chiun. It sucked.
