HHAAAHAAAHHAA! See what happens when you won't run Saturday Night Live, even if you're a NBC affiliate?

I bet a half hour show with Chris Matthews called "Thrill up my Leg" would boost ratings.

Cheers!

They just give vague descriptions of how he changed the news broadcast, going from a "magisterial, hard-news approach" to a "values-based news strategy."  I wonder if that means he stopped focusing on every violent crime in a 500-mile radius and tried more feel-good, human interest stories.  Because yeah, that was never going to work.  Not even in magic-knickers land.

If that is the case, though, that graph would be good to rebut anyone who wants to blame the media for scaremongering.

Anyone here who has seen the broadcasts and can better explain the changes?

anyone who's worked in the television business for more than 6 months should have been able to see this coming.

In most markets, there are a couple stations who chase ambulances, and one or two who do "feel good" stories and "consumer reports" and "health watches"

The ambulance chasers win every. single. time.

People say "why don't you report GOOD news??"  The answer is incredibly simple : It's farking boring and no one watches it.

So long as their classifieds section remains as popular as it is, that won't happen.
