Yet another female celeb that found her inner feminist after she reached her expiration date.  In another 20 years we'll be hearing this same self-serving drivel from Scarlett.

Google Miss South Carolina Teen USA. 2007.

Is Geena Davis a former beauty queen or something?

Why do I suddenly feel like the old guy around here.

I'm still lost. The googles return nothing about Davis being in a beauty pageant.

I think the point was that Davis criticized the Oscars for demeaning women but is notably silent on beauty pageants that do nothing but objectify women.

That's a very, very dumb "point".

But you're the only one who didn't get the joke...

No. I "got" it. Geena Davis is a failure for not mentioning every instance of sexism in the history of man during her commentary about the Oscars.

I just gave subby the benefit of the doubt and waited to see if there was an actual reason for tying the Miss Teen USA competition to Geena Davis before trashing the headline. But there isn't, so it's a weak sauce headline and whoever greened it should be placed on administrative leave until they learn the difference between "clever & snarky" and "Republican-style grievence whining".

Many women still don't seem to get the concept of "busting your balls". Men insult and demean each other all the time. If instead of crying you counter with something like "Go suck your mother's dick" you'll earn their respect for life.

Did subby suffer a stroke while typing the headline?

For christssake.

Miss South Carolina, when the maps were liked such as.

WTF does that have to do with Geena Davis?

You should have to turn in your Fark password.

Why? For calling out a garbage headline?

Listen, half-wits... If Geena Davis had competed in beauty pageants, was a judge for a beauty pageant, or even if she merely had nice things to say about them at some point in her life, it would make her a hypocrite and the headline would work. But as far as I can tell, she has never done any of those things, so the headline is just whiny nonsense.

Comedy 101, people.

I agree.  Most of the people on this thread are morons.  George C. Scott refused to attend the show to accept his Best Actor award for bloody friggen Patton because he thought it was too much of a skin show.  But when some chick says a word against the latest show, they're jumping all over her.

She's probably still holds a grudge against McFarlane for this:

Stewie Griffin: Chris, whatever happened to Geena Davis? She used to be in movies, but she's not in movies anymore. She's attractive enough but when she smiles you see too much gum. Not a good tooth-to-gum ratio... Chris? Ah, I'll tell you in the morning.

Not sure if these are subtle attempts to white knight Geena Davis or just really trolling.

A few moments of self-examination could do wonders for you.  If it doesn't, a few years of secondary education.  If you reach that far without a change in thought process, you should seek professional help.  Perhaps medication.

The larger message still applies.  The time for speaking out against demeaning women is when you're young and pretty and men are throwing stuff at you.  Not when you're old, bitter and bent and no one is paying attention to you anymore.
