It's too bad they don't arm Walmart employees because then we could have had a shootout right there in the parking lot, as God intended.

Alday, who fled the Walmart parking lot in a 2011 Ford Escape, was subsequently pulled over by a sheriff's deputy who asked if there was a firearm in the SUV. "Yes, I have a concealed weapons permit, and you are not taking my gun." Asked about the gun's location, Alday replied, "You're not taking my gun."

Uh huh.

Who wants to bet she's got a Gadsden flag bumper sticker on her car? Or that she listens to Glenn Beck regularly?

She probably believes she was arrested for exercising her 2nd amendment freedoms.

Yeah. I have a .357 Magnum. I have a box of .357 shells at the house, but mostly I buy .38 rounds. They're much cheaper than the .357 bullets. It's kind of neat to load three .38 rounds, followed by three .357 rounds... Bang Bang Bang BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!!

Well yeah. The gun in all probability will correlate to an increase in their social exposure (online and otherwise) to the derp brigade. It's possible to own a gun and not become one of the tards, but people tend to be easily swayed.

Oh, it's even worse (for her, better for the nation), if she's convicted of a felony, which she very well may be, she can say goodbye to the gun as well.  I bet they won't plea bargain down to a misdemeanor without an agreement from her not to own guns anymore.

I have written to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer services which issues the permit asking that it be suspended pending revocation. It is obvious she is not capable of safely using a firearm.

He upcoming felony conviction will prevent her from owing any so that is a plus.

This girl needs to move to Lane County Oregon - the no time county.

Burglary suspect released after 16 hours
Published: March 3, 2013 12:00AM,Midnight, March 3

Sixteen hours.

That's the length of time that Jeremiah Owens spent behind bars on Feb. 22.

Owens was booked into the Lane County Jail at 4:45 a.m. - shortly after he allegedly used stolen keys twice to enter the Eugene Textile Center off Highway 99 in west Eugene illegally and swipe more than $100 in cash from the till, police said.

Owens, a 21-year-old local transient who is on probation, was arraigned in Lane County Circuit Court at 1:30 p.m. that same day.

Prosecutors charged him with three felony counts of second-degree burglary and one count of second-degree theft in the case. They tacked on additional counts of second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief after investigators fingered him as the suspect in a break-in at Willamette High School last November, according to court records.

At 8:45 p.m., the jail's back door opened and Owens walked outside into the crisp night air. Another inmate - someone believed to pose a greater danger to the public - had been arrested, and jail officials made room for him by setting Owens free.

FTFA:As several Walmart employees watched from the store's entrance, Alday appeared outside her car "waving the gun in the holster," reported investigators. Alday then removed the weapon--a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 Special--from the holster and pointed it "at all the store employees and stated 'I have something for Y'all.'" The Walmart workers "retreated back inside the building due to being in fear for their lives."

So, we have assault with a deadly weapon....

FTFA: Alday, who fled the Walmart parking lot in a 2011 Ford Escape, was subsequentlypulled over by a sheriff's deputy who asked if there was a firearm in the SUV. "Yes, I have a concealed weapons permit, and you are not taking my gun." Asked about the gun's location, Alday replied, "You're not taking my gun."

And a case of being a terminal dumbass. I'm sure she thought Barack Obama himself sent that cop to harass poor her.

FTFA:  Alday twice refused the deputy's request to exit the auto, and was tasered when she "reached over the console for something in the passenger seat." Alday was then dragged from the car and handcuffed. The gun was found in the vehicle's center console.

She's lucky that this cop had a taser, and his only option wasn't a gunshot to her face.

You and your fellow gun freaks can insist that the twice-daily moron-with-a-gun story is somehow an aberration or an outlier.  Fact is, there's a mighty big segment of your gun-toting compatriots who are unstable, paranoid, prone to quick anger, drunk, and whose judgement is obviously poor.

Just one citizen with a concealed carry permit could have prevented this.

No big deal. He's out while awaiting trial for non-violent offenses. .

He's a parolee facing multiple counts. If he's convicted he'll be sent away for a good long time.

That's what you would think, but what is happening - the result of drastic budget shortfalls - is that people sentenced to serve their time in county jails are also being released early.  Burglary, B&E, and auto theft are sky-rocking because of cuts in jail bed, police, and prosecutors.  Even stupid criminals begin to understand the concept of a revolving-door.

I have no irrational hatred of firearms.  I have a very rational, well-based fear of a society full of idiots who believe that arming themselves with easy-to-use easy-to-conceal death machines is a benefit to society, especially since the truth is that it is a society in which people get shot and killed or shot and wounded more often than in places where there isn't a broad base of well-armed imbeciles.

Stats back up the rationality of that fear.    Americans kill each other more than the citizens of other civilized western nations do and most of that killing is done with easy to use, easy to buy, easy to steal, easy to conceal handguns.

Ah, now I get it. You're simply a dick. Show me stats that prove concealed carry permit holders represent a higher crime rate than just about any group you'd like to choose. (Including cops, priests, school teachers, and doctors.) Yes, there are some nutcases that have CCW permits. TFA shows a classic example of one, and she won't have that permit for long. It's pretty strict in KS.  Several hours of training which cost a couple hundred bucks, 100 bucks to the sheriff's department, 100 bucks to the state and it's only good for a couple of years.  And that doesn't mean you're going to qualify.

BOOM!!! BOOM!!!

Did that to my brother with a old Ruger police issue. He had never fired it before, so I loaded him up with 5 .38s and made sure the last one was a +P .357.  He fired that last one and was left with a look of utter shock. Best WTF face ever.

And Sin_City, I've never had the desire to try this, but I imagine you could fire a .357 from a .38 as well. Once, at least.

Once would be all you would get. The gun will surely be dead, and you might be as well.
You will fragment the cylinder, in all likelihood, and may also mushroom the barrel in a catastrophic failure due to the charge being so heavy.
There is a good chance the frame will not bear up under the force and it may twist. If that happens it is anyone's bet where the pieces head off to/through.

This also assumes the .38 cylinder is long enough for the .357 load, some will not even fit it. And those that will won't be safe.

I would not advise such shenanigans.

Like I said, once.

Technically it would be twice.....
The first and last time. As your FARKTAG would likely be retired in memorium.
And we woudl then be deprived of your company and witty reparte.

/hey, can we get 'i drunk what' to try this shiat?
//OK, that's prolly mean

gja: MythDragon: gja: MythDragon: but I imagine you could fire a .357 from a .38 as well. Once, at least.

MythDragon: Sin_City_Superhero: Genju: Can't you use .38 special ammo in a .357? Backwards compatibility! Until you fire it, people wouldn't know which ammo is loaded.

BOOM!!!

Pretty sure a .357 shell is too long to fit into a. 38 gun.

HotIgneous Intruder: Just one citizen with a concealed carry permit could have prevented this.

Well that's interesting because just one citizen with a concealed carry permit caused it in the first place.

There are a few instances where this can happen. (no i am not going to divulge in case some dummy goes and tries it and then i get implicated)
