My son is home sick today, and as such, he was watching GMA with my wife and I this morning when that story came on.  He laughed so hard that he almost became healthy instantly.

I never knew that about Maine Coons, I believe he was. We found him and his siblings by the side of the road in a box and adopted him. He looked like one to me. He grew up to have a horrible attitude, mean as hell and extremely territorial.

One of the two kittens we adopted last year likes water as well. He gets in the sink when water is running and cries to get into thenshower each morning. It has been rather hard training him as we can't use the spray bottle method of "discipline" to get him off the counters. He doesn't care and seems to almost want to be wet.

My roommate had a Maine Coon named George that was like that.  He was really nice a lot of the time but he had a screw loose and every once in a while he would get this look in his eye and come after you and you had to get away before he mauled your legs.  This wasn't just normal kitty play time either, he was out for blood.  I was always the first one home from work in the evenings and George always wanted a cuddle.  I'd pick him up and hold him so that his front paws were over my shoulder down the back (he was a huge cat) and pet him for a couple minutes.  It was always clear when cuddle time was over because George would sink his claws into my back.  I got pretty good with the timing after a while so that he usually didn't draw blood.  He used to follow us around the house and the back yard like a dog, but sadly that was his undoing.  Me and the roommate walked down to the corner 7-11 for a 12 pack and he followed us and got hit by a car.  He was an awesome cat and I'm not a cat guy.

That explains one of my father's cats; he likes to get in the shower apparently. He was a stray so we don't know his heritage, but he's certainly big enough and fluffy enough to be part Maine Coon.
