Wow, no people whining about how Clapton is "overrated" by a bunch of people who don' even know how to strum a guitar? Good, this gives me time to get my popcorn...

Derek & The Dominos may have been my favorite of all Clapton's bands.

The dollar value of the heroin and cocaine ingested during those sessions would bankrupt a small country

/but damn....

It's not that I think Clapton is overrated - he certainly has the skill set - it's that his playing sounds sooooo bloodless and lacking in feeling.

He's done some good-to-great stuff but I think it's more in pop  than in blues.

And subby?I've never seen this before;  is this disc available anywhere or is it a gas station bootleg?

No clue. I saw it on another website during the week and bookmarked it for submitting for today. I did not follow up to see if it was available retail.

Upon further review it looks like they might be available...looks like it starts on disk 2.

It's in the Layla 20th Anniversary set. Maybe even the 40th. It's really good. Worth the money.

This dude has never heard While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

That being said, my main complaint with EC is that his playing hasn't seemed to evolve much since the late 60's.

The opposite of this would be Jeff Beck who amazingly continues to improve with age.
