Done in one.  Unlike the Cubbies who were done before the first exhibition pitch.

GO GIANTS!

This might be more effective if anyone actually expected them to make the playoffs in the next few years.  News Flash:  No one does.

More effective at what? It's simply conveying the truth about a bad team, in much the same way that saying whomever starts for my Twins on opening day will be doing so after they are mathematically eliminated as well. That being the point, I'd say it was 100% effective.

Cuba mercy-ruled China 12-0 in 7 innings.
Japan and Cuba advance and will play each other for seeding heading into next round.
China and Brazil are eliminated and also play each other to retain an automatic berth for 2017. The loser must go through qualifications.

South Korea defeated Australia 6-0 to stay alive.
