lantawa: Well, you know what they say......big feet, big ______

Risk of having a seizure and hitting her head on an x-ray machine when they finally decide maybe they should just remove the baby?

...not that I have any experience with this...

After reading the headline I was wondering how this study could have led to a cure for cancer...

My wife now has a dent in her head.

Women often suffer flat feet due to pregnancy, but its not due to the weight but the ligament-loosening hormones. Wear shoes with good arch support and your feet should revert to normal once your hormones stabilize.

Well if their feet aren't getting bigger, why is the freaking ground breaking???

I wore comfortable shoes, gained the minimum amount of weight recommended... and my feet still grew half a size, permanently. I had to donate most of my shoes and buy new ones. Pregnancy needs a better warning label :D

Maybe your husband just replaced all your shoes with a half size smaller, and relabeled just to mess with you.

Thousands of years of women getting pregnant weren't enough of a proof of this?

Also after they have the kid they develop a compulsion to tell every first time mother their own pregnancy "horror" stories.

Those ones also seem disappointed when you have no horror stories after. My biggest event was the disappointment in only being able to get Molson Canadian when I wanted Guinness the day after.

Still find pregnant women EXTREMELY attractive.  Especially if they don't get all doughy and just have bigger boobs and belly:

I know this is what they tell you is supposed to happen, but I don't believe it's true for all women.  I shoved the kid out of my twat 5.5 years ago and my joints and ligaments still aren't what they were before getting knocked up.  I feel like I aged 15 years in the span of those 40 weeks.

\no farkin' way will I have another kid

I too permanently gained a half shoe size.  No one warned me about it and that's the kind of thing I was trying to find out about when I asked women what pregnancy was really like.

For me so far the whole slowed digestion thing has been a big unpleasant surprise. I think my ligaments are naturally fairly tight to begin with, so I'm interested to find out just how much they loosen. Thank goodness one of the trainers at my gym is developing a specialty in training pregnant women!

Yep. It felt like tiny balloons in between the bones in my feet pushing outward By the 9th month, shoes across the tops of my feet were painful and I wore flip flops into the middle of November in Michigan. I also had to replace shoes when I went back to work. Things they don't tell you.

swelling and enlargement of the nose is one of the Boobies pregnancy indicators I look for... increase in airway capacity is a true darwinian selection.
Also I can usually smell when girls are more than 3 weeks preg... very weird perception but fairly accurate.

it seems to be a feedback result of the hormones produced by the child's body.
