Terrell Owens : Hello?

Ozzie Newsome: Hey, Terrell, this is Ozzie Newsome, GM of the World Champion Baltimore Ravens. How are you?

TO: Not too good, I am looking for a team and the IRS just hit me with a massive bill.

ON: Thats why I called. Seems we came in under our expected cap number for Flacco next year and I was wondering if you'd like to come in for a look. Don't take to long to answer, I don't like asking twice.

TO: Man that would be awesome. Could really pull me out of this, and on a good team too. Even though, I guess, this is the second time you asked after 04 when I refused to show up after I was traded to you.

ON: Oh Yeah..... You could always sell your Super Bowl rings.

Great clown Pagliacci's pick-me-up: after 04 when I refused to show up after I was traded to you.

The lengths people went to, to avoid playing with Kyle Boller...

You know, being a Niner's fan, I agreed with most of the world in assessing that TO was just a talented diva that squandered every chance he was given. But then last year there was an in-depth interview (SI, IIRC), with TO where the interviewer really put TO under the microscope. Now, I think TO has clinical depression, and has had it for a long time, but refuses to acknowledge it, much less get it treated. The self-sabotage, the mood swings, the listlessness, the refusal to seek out professional help; all signs of depression. And considering his early home life, I'm not surprised that he (probably) suffers from it.

Possibly true, but many, many, many people with much more difficult life stories have had to (and still do) deal with it.  The money and the resources he had at his disposal makes it very difficult to be sympathetic to him.
