I met the guy who did the "running across the crocs" stunt in Live and Let Die, on a family trip to Jamaica shortly after the movie came out. He raised the crocs as a hobby and rented out the place to filmmakers every few years; his swamp (outside of Negril) was also seen in Papillon.

The way he explained it, they got the shot in three takes. They were shot in three-week intervals, because that's how long it would take him to heal up between takes.

The house you see blowing up was his actual house; the studio bought it it, blew it up, and rebuilt it as part of the shooting agreement.

The funny part was that I wound up waiting on Roger Moore at the Alfred Dunhill store in Chicago about a decade later. My bosses would have fired me for saying anything beyond simple politenesses, so I didn't bring up the crocodile ranch.

Remember when the Brits were a brave force of people whose empire spanned the globe? Yeah, they don't either.

chewielouie: Live and Let Die, the best Bond song ever. If you think otherwise, you're just wrong.

Disagree. There's nothng "Bond" about Live and Let Die. It's a good song, but completely out of place for a Bond film.

Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever and Moonraker. I also think the Adele song is pretty good.
