Maybe she should stop picking up phones and putting them down.

2013-03-02 09:02:51 PM
Ah, Planet Fitness. The same place that'll kick you out for doing squats and deadlifts.

2013-03-02 09:13:11 PM
I'd sue. Aren't "mobile phone users" a protected class?

The smartphone craze has accelerated the generation of self-absorbed AWs to no end.

If it's not loud ringtones in close quarters or restaurants or theaters, etc., it's the belief that any space is their personal space to monopolize with a call, or loud talking, or music.

It wasn't too long ago that public manners and behavior were basic requirements of a civil society, now we're just a collection of overgrown children.

2013-03-02 09:13:39 PM
I'd say "LIKE," but Planet Fitness is not a "gym." It is a hideous purple and yellow place where out-of-shape people go to delude themselves they're doing something healthy.

Meanwhile, real gyms are hurtin' bad and could use your money.

2013-03-02 09:13:44 PM
no hero tag?

2013-03-02 09:15:07 PM
I'll go with the gym here. A phone call can wait.

2013-03-02 09:15:36 PM
"Effective immediately, your license to gym is revoked, and I require you to hand over your telephone. Now. I need hardly remind you that you're still bound by the Official Secrets Act."

Who the fark needs their cell phone and iPad with them as the person is working out? I bet she leaves the equipment sweaty also.

2013-03-02 09:18:04 PM
I have to say that Planet Fitness hasn't impressed me with all of the rules. It's really starting to look like kind of a petty, restrictive place.

2013-03-02 09:19:57 PM
Good

2013-03-02 09:20:26 PM
If you're yakking on your cell phone, you're not working out.

2013-03-02 09:20:30 PM
fark that biatch.  I DON'T want to hear her whining to her Gyn about her problems.

2013-03-02 09:23:02 PM
I hope the "dumbass" tag is for the broad that wouldnt folow a simple rule.

2013-03-02 09:25:18 PM
Hero tag went to the gym 26 minutes ago.

Happy Hours: no hero tag?

Hero tag will be here in 26 minutes.

2013-03-02 09:25:34 PM
Maybe she's like my wife. She's got that disease where if you stop talking for 5 minutes, you die. Or something.

/yes dear. Well they shouldn't have done that. Yes, of course you're right; they're the ones that are wrong. No, they don't make you look fat at all..

//kill me now

While it's pretty obvious that the woman is a self absorbed biatch, I personally wouldn't go to a gym that would not let me take my phone in.  It's where all my music is, and I am not working out without my tunes.  However, I am all for chucking a 25lb plate at any farktard who answers a phone while working out and holds up equipment while they take the call.  Going to the lobby should be done without question.

2013-03-02 09:33:12 PM
Those who want quality time can go to this gym now. All the phone yakkers, the headphone volume uppers, the incessant coughers can go to their own gym. Let them put up with each other's crap, see how they like it then.

2013-03-02 09:33:54 PM
Hmm...let's see, gym owner says chronic cellphone talker was belligerent. Chronic cellphone talker says gym owner was belligerent. Having had experience with massive numbers of douchecanoe chronic cellphone talkers, I'm going to believe the gym owner.

Good riddance. Learn some manners, chronic cellphone talker lady. You are not important or special. No one wants to hear your inane conversations.

Typical self-absorbed Masshole. The entire state is filled with women that look and act just like this woman.

Looks like the kinda of person that doesn't get off the phone at the gym, or the coffee counter, or the grocery Checkout.  I'm 100% with the gym on this

Who do these people talk to all the time?

I got my cell phone bill for last month: 7 minutes airtime usage. For the month.

maybe she should STOP DOING DRUGS
that's what it's about
not the phone call

I got rock-hard abs from laughing so hard at their no intimidation "Judgement Free Zone."

/Fortunately the beer softened them up again

I wish to subscribe to this gym's newsletter.

So one less douche on the treadmill paying 86 bucks a month to hopefully make it appear like her ass is smaller now than before.

Looks like the gym rat all came out here - good, because I have a question about gym etiquette:

I've started going in, doing basic strength 3 days a week and cardio 5 days a week.  In this particular gym (work pays my membership, beggars aren't choosers), I notice everyone sits on the equipment during their rest periods between sets.  I was taught (long ago, I'm ancient) that it was extremely rude to take up equipment during your rest.  Especially something like the power rack, when you're squatting heavy and taking long rests between sets.

Has the world changed, or can I retain my silent judging?

On the other hand, though, everyone - even the obnoxious douchebags - uses the gym-supplied sanitizer and sham-wow-type towels to wipe down everything THOROUGHLY when they're done.  So there's that.

7 minutes? I swear, my mom is keeping Verizon in business.

"Tina Santoro Asmar said she got the boot after answering an unexpected call"

I have this idea for something that will record calls when you can't answer.

I bet the majority of those calls were her loudly airing her dirty laundry.

that's a flattering shot. she looks like donald trump in the article.

Oh yeah, she wants an apology. Because getting an apology from the gym would allow her to further convince herself that she was right.

My family used 71 minutes last month. Combined.

My wife seems to have a lot more textual partners than me, though.

I listen to music on my phone with headphones when i exercise. The people around me could be farking or beating eachother or screaming for no reason and i wouldnt hear it.

Unexpected because it was the 2 nanoseconds she wasnt calling someone else?

1.  She broke the rule that restricted phone use to the lobby.
2.  This is not a free speech issue.

She's certianly not fugly
But she is also not certianly not hot enough to deserve the special treatment reserved for the beautiful people.

It's not a free speech issue either way.  The day she gets thrown in jail because the government objects to something she said during a call on her cell phone, then we'll talk about her 1st Amendment rights.

2013-03-02 09:50:31 PM
Or, biatch, you could just not answer the phone. It's not like you're the President and WWIII will start if you don't pick up the Red Phone and give the Soviet Premier the codes in 90 seconds, you know.

2013-03-02 09:51:56 PM
Yeah, she looks like a total nag, who is never wrong, in any circumstance whatsoever.

I'm completely with the gym on this one.

You should really know you're texting everybody she has text with.

Benevolent Misanthrope: Looks like the gym rat all came out here - good, because I have a question about gym etiquette:

If a guy is lifting and resting on equipment just go up and say, "Can I get sets in?" or similar. If he gets all douchebaggy then...well, he's a douche and either get into it or leave it alone, your choice. But that almost never happens and in the real world he'll blink and say, "Yeah, no problem". And then you're in the world of spotting for each other and helping each other reconfig the weights and you've made a new gym buddy.

Just speak up, life's too short to ever feel put out.

Of course it is not a free speech issue.  That is why I said it was not.  Also, I was referencing the opening line of the farking article: "A Westwood woman learned there's a limit to how much free speech you can exercise at the gym"

2013-03-02 09:56:07 PM
There is entirely too much talking going on in the world today.  Also too much picture taking.
