My money's on more Chelsea embarrassment today. Too bad we don't have an early match today: have to wait for the 3:00 games

Isn't that every day?

The main problem with no early game is that I have more time to think about my FFPL picks. If experience has taught me anything, it's that the more I think, the worse I do.

I hear you brother. My greatest wobble was when I found myself over-thinking it so I now have a two-minute rule for the whole set. One of those minutes goes to the Banker chip.

Of course, that hurry has sometimes led me to cheer on results which I haven't picked, and scowl over ones I have...

I'd be interested to know who has scored the most banker points over the season.

Afternoon all. I'm writing to you from the other side; I committed suicide this week after watching my beloved Berbagod do the Harlem Shake. It's kinda cool here. Sir Alex is still in charge of everything. I went for a few pints with George Best. I also saw Abe Vigoda, Mindy McCready, and Liverpool's dignity.

DAMNIT I FORGOT ABOUT NO EARLY MATCH. WHY THE HELL AM I AWAKE?!?!

/Probably the massive hangover.
//Just got back from India, so jetlag + tons of whiskey and smokes = want to die

Same here.

I'm finding myself over-thinking my banker. Pretty sure I've made the right choice but you never know.

Just switched my banker from Liverpool to City. Hopefully I don't get burned again like I did the last time I switched at the last minute.

Arsenal came through in the clutch for me last week, I have to say. But I picked Spurs in the derby, with insurance.

I picked City for my banker this week. I forgot to bring my other laptop home again so only one game can be watched at a time. Think I'll be watching United.

Yesterday was unofficial St. Patty's day here on campus. Literally the entire campus drank all day. I started at 1 and I was several hours behind the majority of campus. Drank until about 10PM when my body could sustain me no longer and I passed out until just now (8AM).

Thankfully not hung over, but I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday. I think french toast is in order.

Oh also I had some pretty crazy dreams, but one of them involved Everton being up 2-0 at half time with Fellani getting both goals.

Pretty sure he picked up a knock at the end of the Norwich match. Might still be hobbling him.

Did anyone else realize El Classico was at 10AM ET instead of tomorrow? Way early I guess to help Real Madrid before the United match. Think I may have to watch that as well.

Not so sure about Liverpool. Sturridge is out until next week, and Liverpool don't look as good without him. The good thing is we've now got Coutinho, so we have two real wingers in the side to pair with Suarez up top, but Wigan have been doing the business as of late. Something in my head just tells me that this is a trap game.

I haven't seen the team sheets, but I'd be surprised if they played full strength lineups in a meaningless game.

Arsenal got me 90 points last week. It was a rush picking them, knowing you shouldn't be doing it, but doing it anyway.

Real Madrid v Barcelona (1500 GMT)

BBC Sport's Spanish football writer Andy West: "As expected, Jose Mourinho has made several changes to rest his star players ahead of Tuesday's trip to Manchester United. Cristiano Ronaldo, Mesut Ozil, Xabi Alonso and Sami Khedira are among those left out, with rare starting opportunities for Kaka, Luka Modric, Michael Essien and young striker Alvaro Morata. Barca are missing Xavi with a thigh problem makes him doubtful for the Champions' League return leg against AC Milan in 10 days. His place goes to youngster Thiago Alcantara."

Looks like Real aren't even going to try.

Yeah but you can't keep chasing that first high. You'll end up earning $5 a pop in truckstop bathrooms before you know it

You're probably right. You don't get to the bottom of page 1 without making a lot of truly bad decisions. I'm sticking with Suarez and the boys

BTW, any golf fans here? I'm loving the shiatstorm Rory caused by walking off the course yesterday. Between his poor play and his girlfriend's loss to the 186th ranked player this weekend, one rumor is an unplanned pregnancy. LOL

Norwich tend to do well against the top teams but will line up deep and defensive so if you don't have a dog in the fight then West Brom/Chelsea will be more entertaining.

Anyone have comments on how terrible the Chelsea fans are for their treatment of Rafa? I mean I understanding disliking him, but their ire should be directed towards the owner, not the manager that was brought in.

Your FFPL report for Round 27

farm9.staticflickr.com

A fairly healthy set of scores this week as results conform to generic expectation.

Kcostell fails to provide me with any entertainment, dropping a further  75 points behind. Big week for Obamartins - transfers to Major League Fitba and is almost back in second place with a respectable 120.

We're not talking about the bottom as gentlemen don't talk about the bottoms of ladies.

30/30 continues Operation Asymptote and was the only player to lose points this week.

Wynswrld top-scorer with a robust 150, with Obamartins in second and mitchcumstein1 and I in joint-third with 110. Mitch fastest climber, up 4. Multiple players down 2 slots.

StRalphTheLiar retains Presidency of the Banker Bonus club, keeping out ADubs86 on ranking. Nathanjr, Scouserduck, mitch and juicepats pillars of the BB establishment.

12 of us have made it into the 1000+ club with several more within spitting distance. Juicepats crawls onto Page 1, with cptrios and HawaiiE dropping down onto Page 2.

After today, ten games/rounds left.

I think those who are chanting Rafa Out are a bunch of spoiled children who need to remember the days before the Russian billions when a good FA cup run as the highlight of the season

On the one hand, the supporters' favorite son RDM got sacked, so whoever was coming in next was going to be hated. Add the fact that Rafa made some pretty unsavory comments about them while he was at 'pool just adds to the fire, so I understand their frustration.

That said, no one man is bigger than the club. Even if you don't like the man, support the club. Booing the team does nothing positive. Roman is the one in charge, you want to take out full page ads in the paper against him, do it. But come gameday, support your side.

Demba scores at the Bridge.

Elsewhere, Blackburn have gone from winning at the Emirates to trailing relegation candidates Peterborough by 3 at home, inside half an hour. Someone named Dwight Gayle has a hat trick - maybe Arsenal should buy him.

After enough weeks of issues, I FINALLY just managed to log into the FFPL. I see that I've maintained 15th despite my absence. I had enough time to pick  games, so laught at this:

Wigan 1 - 2 Liverpool (Banker/Insurance)
Tottenham 1 - 0 Arsenal
Villa 1 - 1 Man City

And, as I'm sure you're asking: "But what about the MIGHTY Oxford United, LucklessWonder? How did they do?'

They're currently 11th in League Two, 9 points out of the play-off spots and are currently drawing 1 - 1 with 2nd placed Port Vale after 32 minutes of play
