Why do people hate peepholes? A drill with the right size bit and a $5 peephole doesn't cost that much. If the 'portable building' has a second door, it makes sense to know who is knocking for security purposes.

It's 4,5 Million, not Billion. Geez, that's like half the administrator's salary. They consider it chump change even though to the people who send their kids there, it will give them a feel-good, though ineffective sense of security.

Watch, make copies of, distribute overseas, contribute to the global plague of CP... all that because some dumbass flunkie IT can't secure a camera. I guess a lot depends on how well the zoom works, but if you can pull the feed I'd assume you can also control the camera.

The elementary schools in my ISD all have 32 camera CCTV that feeds back to ISD PD but can be viewed by anyone on campus with the right software.

It's a slick setup and has helped catch 3 adult thieves and get the ISD out of lawsuits thanks to video evidence.
