Gentlemen, we have here the potential for a perfect storm of derp. A derp wave so devistating that no man, woman, or child in it's path will be able to survive.

God help us all.

You don't need sources to catch Moore lying, just a microphone. Lies are his existence. Even the Catholic church was able to see through this guy before he could be unleashed on the alter boys.

They're not so much defending Michael Moore as they are slamming Buzzfeed.

Noam Chimpsky: You don't need sources to catch Moore lying, just a microphone. Lies are his existence. Even the Catholic church was able to see through this guy before he could be unleashed on the alter boys.

So it is your argument that Michael Moore does not, in fact, exist.

Breitbart. Moore. Buzzfeed. No matter who wins, we all lose.

2013-03-02 08:31:42 AM
Saw the whole thing with a well sourced report on the event. Moore was a melodramatic ass who inflated the whole issue. Time stamps betray the whole "scandal". The filmmaker arrived and got from the plane to departure in around 45 minutes. Going off of the sources he was detained for only about 25 minutes.

Moore has the largest per capita following of rubes. I've never met anyone, at least anyone who cites him, with a shred of critical thinking.

They're not so much defending Michael Moore as bashing BuzzFeed - and the rest of the media for letting BuzzFeed get away with allegedly lying about having multiple anonymous sources instead of just one anonymous source.

I did't realize anyone took BuzzFeed seriously enough to pay attention to anything political they publish. I didn't even know they had political content nor did I know they were "left wing".

I do know they suck though.

2013-03-02 08:39:41 AM
I almost wonder if they feel that they have to do this after making their name on extremely heavily, and creatively, edited videos, like the one that destroyed Shirley Sherrod's career.

This is like John Wayne Gacy coming to Ted Kazinski's defense.

And why am I supposed to care about any of this?

So is the thread about who wins the d!ckbag award?

A. Breitbart's Site
B. BuzzFeed
C. Michael Moore
D. Breitbart Commenters
E. Subby

All of the above not an option, there is a clear winner.

This comment of yours got me to thinking. You just don't see much in the way of Jewish restaurants. All kinds of Middle Eastern restaurants to be found in nearly every major city around the world, but not Jewish. Is Jewish food really that bad, or do the Jews just try to keep their food a big secret?

Israeli food? No. But to give them credit, the Kosher Delis stem from New York's large Jewish community.

Being in Southern California, I've never seen a Kosher Deli around these parts. Seen plenty of Middle Eastern, and pretty much every other kind of restaurant, but never a Kosher Deli. Maybe it's a regional thing. Tons of Mexican restaurants, taco shops, taco carts, taquerias etc. around here.

I'm surprised, since a lot of transplant New Yorkers live out that way now. You would think there is a market for it.

But you're right, you hardly see it outside of New York. Even Florida seems to lack them.

But to answer your original question, that's what I think has been the Jewish Community's largest contribution to the culinary community.

Yeah, the Democrats pretty much jettisoned him after 2004 when it became apparent that his constant presence in the politicsl arena was more successful in galvanizing Republicans to re-elect Bush.

Or at least, that was my impression.

I think the IDF should be a bit more cautious about collateral damage during counter-terror operations.

I've lived up and down the lower east coast and (GA to PA), and every town but GA had a few kosher Delis.   In the smaller towns they have "New York" in the name rather than kosher, less jewish but still get the point across.

The are all decorated with signed photos from Broadway actors I don't recognize.

Really? You've never been to a Jewish deli? Never had a bagel mit a schmear? Jewish food is comfort food, not haute cuisine. I bet you've never been to an Irish restaurant or an English one either--one that actually specializes in Irish cuisine and is not just an excuse for a bar. It all depends on where you've been raised. I once took a friend from California to a high end Mexican restaurant here on the East Coast and he told me there's no such thing as Mexican cuisine--someone just cooked up some likely-sounding recipes to appeal to food snobs who didn't know any better.

Go to New York and visit Katz's Delicatessen on Houston Street. Then you'll know what it's like to go to a Jewish restaurant.

We're all dumber now that we've read that. So Buzzfeed is a "major" site, apparently. I'm sure they get some traffic, but trying to portray them as some kind of legitimate journalists is kind of a stretch.

But the REAL derpiness kicked in with:
But there's also been a loud silence coming from the likes of those who in the recent past have had a lot to say about the use of anonymous sources. As of now, and other than a brief mention on Twitter or a throwaway link, media luminaries such as Slate's Dave Weigel, Politico's Dylan Byers, and the Washington Post's Greg Sargent haven't written a single word critical of claiming you have multiple anonymous sources when you have only one.
It makes one wonder what the rules are.
I guess if you're protecting Obama's government, there are no rules.

OMG! Media conspiracy! Except that this was preceded by them by all the folks who HAVE taken Buzzfeed behind the woodshed over this. The Atlantic, The Guardian, the Huffington Post, the Washington Post.... So, you know, except for THOSE major media organizations nobody is complaining. I guess because not EVERY single last person is doing exactly what Breitbart wants them to do, just some of them, apparently that's some sort of conspiracy.

So I guess if you're attacking Obama's government there are no rules, right Breitbart? Hypocritical douches.
