Well, they're both strongly religious driven groups which aren't very tolerant of dissidence and enjoy large amounts of control over others.

I can see how they would fit well together.

They'd both like to destroy the United States, too

They're also both pissed off that Obama killed bin Laden.

And they both think religious freedom and women getting educated is a bad thing.

Damn. We need to be making a Venn Diagram here.

Well, the GOP is anti-drug, and the Taliban is all for growing and selling them to infidels.

I always found it darkly amusing that the people who herp and derp the mot about stopping "Sharia law" want to base the law on Christian morality.

Sharia law, in other words.

2013-03-01 07:03:36 PM
Some of us have been joking about this for years.  Sad that it isn't a joke anymore.

Republicans are no more progressive than religious terrorists.

Yes, but it's Christa law.  Spelled with a C.  Totally different.

Marriage is between one man and as many wives as he wants who must always wear burkas and walk 10 paces behind him and be illiterate and have sex with him whenever he wants and give him sons not daughters and not complain about being beaten and must always be completely obedient to him or the family will be shamed and he will have to kill them.

Republicans aren't quite that bad.  Yet.

So when Americas enemies agree with something some members of an American political party believe it should mean something?

I'd think carefully about that considering the long, long, long history of Democrats and enemies of America essentially being on the same page. That includes by the way the elements of Al Queda who think America is a rotten place they would like to bankrupt and elements of the group ANSWER, who are on record as wanting the same thing.

Only idiot right-wingers think Democrats think America is a rotten place. Democrats love the USA more than any Republican I've ever met. That's a myth that Republicans like to spread, because they're not very smart people.

Yeah, but having people explode into glitter and spontaneous dance parties involving leather-clad oiled men doesn't really have the same political and social effect as murdering hundreds of people in a crowded market.

The great conflict of our age is conservatives vs normal people. This has been obvious since about 1980.

Al Queda and GOP align to oppose day marriage in pretty much every way

2013-03-01 08:06:21 PM
People who agree on some stuff don't agree on all stuff. People can have similar ideas, but some believe in simply spreading their message in the media and others believe in spreading their message via acts of war. So the people were similar in the beginning but in the end they could not be more different. They love similar ideas, but one also loves people and the other does not.

Look into ultra fundamentalist Christian modesty doctrine and the stay-at-home daughters movement. The only difference is that they're not making girls and women cover their faces. Oh wait, what is this?

Nonsense. The GOP loves drugs and the war on drugs. And, privatizing prisons and teenage boot camps. Smoke a joint? Prison. Who pays for it? Tax payers.

*tinfoil hat* firmly adjusted: The CIA wasn't above making a little money off of heroin in Vietnam while in bed with the Mafia.

Yep.  They TALK a big game, but in the end, actions speak louder. When terrorists took hostages and made demands of Reagan, he gave in. When Bill Clinton tried to kill Osama bin Laden, Republicans hounded him at every step. When bin Laden managed to attack us, Republicans invaded a country only partially related, before ignoring even THAT to attack a country that was an outright enemy of al Qaeda.

They talk about being hard on terror, but Republicans are al Qaeda's best farking friend.

2013-03-01 08:23:56 PM
Strange bedfellows? How so?

Fundamentalist authoritarians whose loftiest ambitions include suppressing women's(hell, anyone not religious and straight and male) rights, naked militarism, spreading the reach of fundamentalism abroad and at home, and flat out willing to destroy(lives, nations, civilians, buildings, society) anything to ram their ideology of bigotry and vitriol down the populations throats.

Sorry, but I don't think the GOP and Al'Qaeda are strange bedfellows at all. I think they are born to be best friends, and each uses the other to gather power.

Except for the fact that those were Mujahadeen leaders, not the Taliban, and many of the people in that picture were later murdered BY the Taliban and Al-Queda for being pro-western sympatizers or too "liberal" when it came to human rights, women, and religion, you might have a point.

You're not helping by passing around blatent lies.

The site is done by the younger brothers of the guy who wrote the book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" and started an entire generation of evangelical teenagers down the path of courtship and betrothal as the appropriately godly form of relationships.
