So "The fifth largest meteorite ever found in East Antarctica..." was found. If you have to get that specific, it doesn't make it sound all that great.

Just don't try to convince Lamar Smith (R-Texas) that meteorites are real.

I've been collecting meteorites for many years. For you collectors out there, there's a few nice ones to be had on Ebay... just don't bid on the chunks of cement that some enterprising douches like to sell online.

Hate to ask, but what's the going rate on a present-level meteorite? (Ie, a christmas gift, something like that - not a museum-level acquisition)

Also, I'd think an actual space rock would be one dense/heavy MF, as far as buying one online and such...

Regardless, I'd love to have one... just to say "I have one"...

I bought a nice "fits well in your hand and looks like you think one should look like" chunk of the Campo Del Cielo event, a year or so ago, for maybe $150.

In this article we are told "the cold, dry climate helps preserve any organic chemicals inside the rocks." Organic chemicals is what forms of life are made of.

This meteor includes a telepathic life form that tells me I'm very special. With my luck though it'll be a pimp from Ceti Alhpa 6.
