Woodward is obviously a librul plant seeking to discredit the great bastion of truth that is conservative news commentary.

2013-03-01 02:09:06 PM
And yet significant portions of America continue to follow both.

2013-03-01 02:14:50 PM
But he took just as hard a pounding by a BBC.

That e-mail exchange reminded me of some old school flame wars. Damn!

2013-03-01 02:21:29 PM
woodward might prefer the annulment to prove it was a sham as opposed to kim k who still wants to pretend it was real.

2013-03-01 02:21:51 PM
They've still got charges against Obama.  Presidenting while blah is a pretty big charge.

2013-03-01 02:22:59 PM
It is Friday afternoon. I want pictures of boobies (but not Woodward's).

2013-03-01 02:23:20 PM
I wonder if the same folks in the other thread who were adamant that it actually was a threat are going to show up here and stick to that stance.

2013-03-01 02:23:41 PM
The whole thing was hilarious... The righteous indignation and outrage that quickly turned to deflection and outright denial of reality in the Fark threads was enjoyable, too.

2013-03-01 02:23:44 PM
Conservatives then: He's a hero!

Conservatives now: Well, it doesn't matter that it wasn't true, shouldn't we be talking about how bullying the White House is?

A more intellectually dishonest group you will never find.

2013-03-01 02:24:00 PM
Woodward has quickly been shunted to the dustbin of irrelevance.

JohnnyC: I wonder if the same folks in the other thread who were adamant that it actually was a threat are going to show up here and stick to that stance.

The Daily Caller claims that the only person who is allowed an opinion on whether or not it was a threat is Woodward himself. Since he fell on the fainting couch, we must believe him.

2013-03-01 02:25:19 PM
Maybe Woodward has dementia? I mean, how could you explain how farking wrong he has been with this whole sequester debate?

2013-03-01 02:25:34 PM

AeAe: Woodward has quickly been shunted to the dustbin of irrelevance.

Nah, he'll just fail up like everybody else who's useful to the right.

2013-03-01 02:25:43 PM
I'm kinda shocked they're not doubling down.  This whole acknowledging reality thing is kind of unprecedented.

2013-03-01 02:27:12 PM
Now there are 2 things he said that he should regret.  But he won't.

And Benghazi.  Don't forget about Benghazi.

Woodward has always been center-right. His books on the Bush White House were mainly uncritical, offering tacit support for the Iraq war. It's Bernstein who turned out to be the real liberal of the two, which is why it is Woodward, not Bernstein, who gets invited to all the Sunday talk shows.

2013-03-01 02:28:22 PM
I bet Woodward is really starting to regret staking out that claim.

/Not a threat.
//Or is it?

Whoa, hey now, there buddy, let's not forget that Sean Hannity's anal wart TDC spackled a whole bunch of "but but but" in their article like it was the small of a hot girl's back.

Everytime I see one of these issues come up and then get refuted a day or two later I think "Too late, already in the echo chamber and in a FW:FW: email that you'll get from a gullable relative"

Is Threatgate a scandal yet?

No.  We have better shiat to do.  We'll laugh at Woodward for awhile, and let it go.

I genuinely admire this administrations ability to let idiots be idiots then show the rest of us how idiotic they were. The did it with the birth certificate and a few more issues I can't think of at the moment.

Proceed Mr. Woodward...

"It's just like when the Obama admin kept threatening all the conservative media that tried to tell the truth!"

You know that's coming. The only question is the over/under. I say 2 months. That's about when conservatives decide to start rewriting history.

2013-03-01 02:40:39 PM
Conservatives just feel sorry for Dem shills because they suffer from battered wife syndrome.

Was it the White House who leaked the EMails to Politico?

I'm sure Woodward didnt think his cunning plan through. The interview with Hannity was hilarious.

Republicans are idiots.

OBAMA EMPLOYS PSYCHICS AND WIZARDS!

Yeah, because if there's one thing Republicans are famous for, it's being able to admit when they're wrong, make a sincere apology, and move on. Ok, that's three things.

Those trolls (otherwise known as conservatives) provide links to articles trying to spin this into a wider story, generally around Lanny Davis.

AHAHAHAHA. Holy cow. The juevos on this guy.

"No, I did not feel threatened. What I have said David, and come on you are putting words in my mouth, is that I don't think this is the way to operate," Woodward responded.

I wish they pushed him on this point. What exact way is he talking about? Apologizing for being rude on a phone call? Telling him "as a friend" that he'll regret being wrong wrong wrong?

Lanny Davis said he was threatened.

2013-03-01 02:52:23 PM

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: "I never said it was a threat," Woodward said.

To be specific:

"I've tangled with lots of these people. But suppose there's a young reporter who's only had a couple of years - or 10 years' - experience and the White House is sending him an email saying, 'You're going to regret this.' You know, tremble, tremble. I don't think it's the way to operate."

Basically he is playing the game of semantics, where he can correctly say "I never said the specific words: this is a threat", but he can insinuate it all day long. What a choad.

Lanny Davis said he was threatened.

Lanny Davis said his editor had a telephone conversation with someone at the White House.
