I thought of this weeks ago and just got around to making it. Working full time and going to school full time so spare time doesn't exist.

I lurk here but rarely post - thanks to all you Farkers for restoring my faith in humanity on a weekly basis!

With apologies to CrankiAndi, Dyson, and Hoover...

maynerdkitty: I did not think it wise to be caught in the cab of a small s-10 with a feral kitty and playful dog.

What a pretty little critter.  I hope someone managed to snatch her up and give her a home, or at least get her somewhere safe where there are fewer cars and fewer playful hungry pooches.

[bulk-share.slickpic.com image 500x333]

I didn't find any free sites that tickled my fancy. I ended up with a SmugMug subscription and so far I have no regrets. I also read many forum posts giving high praise for ZenFolio,

I'm paid up on PB until April, but I'm deleting my account at the close of this thread to drive home my displeasure.

Yeah, me either, I think I will just stick it out with PB until it expires and then see how things look. Maybe I'll be able to upgrade to smugmug by then.

Every time I see your bearded dragons I'm reminded of the 3 my oldest niece had when she was about 14. My niece was explaining how one of them had died. She told me "He had been depressed for awhile"(Who knew lizards got depressed)and when she came home from school one day she found him face down in the water dish. She said "Obviously he committed suicide".
My sister asked her "Are you sure it wasn't murder? There are two others in the tank." My niece was horrified because she hadn't even considered murder. She ended up selling her dragons to a friend from school because whether it was murder or suicide she didn't want them anymore and she felt they should go to a home where they wouldn't have a past.
Yes my niece is a bit of an odd ball but like I've told her before every family needs an eccentric relative and she's the one for her generation. We won't discuss who's the eccentric one in my generation.

laulaja: Tnx lilys for welcoming Dezilith. Wonder if Dezilith  means thank you for letting me lurk and live vicariously through all of you. Sted of precariously?

I dunno, if QJ's had hushpuppies it could be rather perilous in here. :)

Real Women Drink Akvavit: I miss my friends who allegedly had ferrets. They moved out of state, so I don't get to go ferret bowling across their carpet anymore. :'-( The ferrets LOVED ferret bowling. They allegedly had three and I dunno about you, but if I were keeping three hyper ferrets (though that is totally illegal in my state) they'd have their own room full of toys and large tubing to scamper through and hidey holes and swings and stuff, too.

Allegedly.

/*waves in case they're lurking*
//*gives Macadamia a big ol' smooch!*

IIRC, while it's illegal to purchase ferrets in CA, I think it's fine to own them. I keep forgetting to go look that up to be sure... We had them in a previous apartment (they allowed caged animals but not cats, so fine, we got some INTERESTING caged animals!), and nobody batted an eye. Several friends and friends-of have also had the goofy little beasties, and the way I figure it, if I can buy ferret kibble, toys, and treats at the local pet store how illegal can they be? :)

/not again
//at least until I own my own home and can spend more time at said home with them

Been a pretty good week so far; might have a new apartment in a few weeks, the weather has gotten warm and sunny (got up to 75 today, hurrah!), I'm doing well in my classes, and the boys are being adorkable because it's nice outside. Speaking of nice outside, a quick Caturday CSS: I was doing my walk today (power walk with weights for an hour, good stuff) when on my way back to the house around the lake some guy was playing frisbee with his dogs. One of them had climbed out of the lake, but instead of running to him, he saw me and went "OMG, NEW FRIEND! :D" and galloped over, nearly body-checked me, and bapped me with the frisbee. The polite thing to do is to take said frisbee and throw it, but he decided that tug-of-war was WAY more fun. It's a strange thing to be 5'7 and 175 yet get tugged about by a dog about half of that weight. (Found out that he's a GSD-and-something-huge-mix, he was small for his lineage!) His owner was embarrassed and apologized for wet-dog-on-running-pants, but I didn't mind, I was almost done and had laundry to do anyway. I was finally able to get the frisbee free and threw it for him for a few minutes. If he was happy before, he was simply ecstatic afterward. "New friend who throws frisbee into lake? OMG YAY!!" That made my afternoon, and I think it did the dog's and his owner's as well.

And now, cats! Pardon the grainy quality, the light was weird and my phone isn't THAT clever.

It's kind of funny that my cat has fancier bowls than I do for my fuds. I got hers at Goodwill, one piece at a time, cuz that's how they sold it. So her "fancy bowl" is a china bowl with the gold rim and pretty flowers. I thought it was only fitting to put her fancy salmon in the fancy bowl so she'd know it was a treat and not "everyday fuds". She knows that bowl is for extra special fuds.

She also knows I'm going to give up the food eventually. Geez, cat. Can I taste my own dinner first? LOL!

Well, I was having a good ol' time playing games online and lookin' at kittehs, when suddenly I started having problems with my laptop. I'm still using Angrboda 'cuz a friend is going to upgrade Lilith (my favorite lappie) when he gets the time/comes across the parts. I got Lilith running again after she did the *hack* *cough* *wheeze* "and I die...." thing on me last week, but she does need an upgrade. No big, right? I've got tons of puter power here and Angrboda's doing just fine. Well, yeah, big deal NOW because Lilith isn't home and Angrboda is my last functional lappie that can also run all of my games and if she's going to act up, well, that's total tizzy fit time.

Me fighting with Angrboda:
img.photobucket.com

OK, so that's just a cat pretending to be me and a grandma computer pretending to be Lilith. You get the idea, though.

To make a long story a lot shorter, when I calmed myself I realized it was our network (my son banging on the door yelling "MOOOOOM!!! The internet!" confirmed my diagnosis of "farkin' router") and since our router is older than the dirt Christ himself trod upon (in computer years, of course), I just gave my son my bank card, had him buy a new one and told him "set it up yourself" while I gabbed on my long-neglected cell phone. Problem totally solved, dudes, no further meltdowns required.

Don't you just love it when everything works out in the end?

powerful katrinka: sherpa18: borg: Elderly subby? where in the story does it say he was "Elderly"? he looks to be about 62 that not "Elderly"

Alvin K. Nersessian was born on February 13, 1937 and passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012.  Which made him 75 - I think that qualifies for describing him as "elderly".

[i415.photobucket.com image 307x400]

No, 75 is not always "elderly". I was born before him and do not consider myself to be "elderly". Of course you young-uns may have a different opinion. :- )

I feel elderly right now I'm so tired. I'm not ready for the taxidermist yet, so I guess I'm not. Well, that and I'm only in my 40's.

domari: sherpa18: I used the same exact HTML that Flickr gives, which is what I've been using since I've been on Fark. When I tried using the image button and the URL last week all I saw was a broken image.

And that is more than likely your problem ... again, the Flicker url/link is providing more HTML encoding than the "new" Fark needs - as long as your link starts with JUST http:// and ends with .jpg , (delete anything else) all you have to do is paste it into the comment box (with or even without using the image button) and it should preview/post (which is how I got your pic to post from your Flicker account)... Drop me an email if I can be of any further assistance.

Cuz' "continuously" would be really bad, right? HA!!! Funnee....

When I was 13 or 14, my mom took my kid brother, my older sister, and myself on a cross-country camping trip out to the Rockies, Yellowstone, Utah, Grand Canyon, etc. Beautiful, beautiful country. Going back again before I die.

We went across the bridge at Royal Gorge in Colorado.
It's a narrow, suspension bridge, and the river is almost 1000 feet down below.
My brother looked over the edge, saw how far it was down to the bottom, and commented
that if you were to fall over the edge, "Dang! It's so far down, it would kill you continuously".

As young as we were, if our lives were to flash before our eyes, there would be a lot of time leftover before we hit.

Aww! Reptile fun! I had a Ball python today. I think it recognized me from last year. He/She was quite content to cuddle in my arms. And I got to explain to the kids some interesting facts about snakes.

That is so cool!  I had a Ball python for a couple of years.  Poor thing was sick when I got him and I had to force feed him the whole time I had him.  He never recovered, poor guy.

That's too bad! I was surprised how many kids were afraid of the snake. I did tell them about how they feel etc. Maybe next time I sub someone will touch a snake.

BBBB sounds like a bit of PTS. Definitely a trauma when you are any age, let alone 11! Yeep. I told the kids who were afraid that it was ok, I don't really like spiders either. In fact I think I would wig out if I had to hold a tarantula. Nope, don't think I could do it. Not even after several glasses of vino. *shudder*. I think it's because they are so fast, and when you see them they are skittering off to a safer place. I feel the same way about our millipedes that used to live in the basement. Gah! They wig me out, durn animated eyebrows..

I really think the fear of snakes could be genetic.  There are so many places in the world where you would never touch a snake.  I was lucky in that department because neither of my parents were bothered at all by snakes.  I caught my first one when I was in 6th grade, but I only touched it because I knew it was a garter snake.  I had read several books in the library about identifying snakes by that time.  When the garter snake escaped from his terrarium, my next door neighbor wouldn't come out of her house until I had found it (2 weeks later!)  Actually my sister found it when she was sitting in the bathroom.  It came up out of the fuzzy pink carpet and she flew out of there while pulling up her drawers yelling "I found your snake, I found your snake"!  She was in 4th grade at the time.  I decided I didn't need to keep him so I let him go in a field near-by.

*lusty ladybugs*

When I was a kid, the popular notion was that spotted bugs were female and unspotted were male.
There was one type, almost perfectly round, blood-red that I kept trying to catch and 'breed'.

Musta been doing something right, because I frequently found eggs on the lid of the jar right next to the air holes punched in the lid...but that's as far as I ever got with my breeding program.

Real Women Drink Akvavit: maynerdkitty: I guess this part of Texas is in a drought, I found this plant in the fence row this weekend.

Holy moley! I've never seen a plant like that here. Looks dangerous. I'm going to guess we don't have 'em here or the gangbangers would be hawking them as weapons along with the rpg launchers and full autos.

We may have them and I just don't know about 'em. I'm not exactly a rural type person.

It is some kind of cactus, I have that one and some prickly pear like things that I have to get rid of. I may buy a few goats to help keep the field in good condition. I worry about snakes in the underbrush so I want the goats to get the brush down enough that I can start mowing around all the big trees. I kind of liked the pretty red color on that cactus but I have to get some hot wire on that fence before the horses can be turned out and I don't want to run into that thing every time I have to work out there.

Wow, that was neat. I've got the bedroom window open for some fresh air because it's just lovely outside, and perked up because the wind shifted, bringing a fresh, clean smell with it. It's now raining (well, sprinkling), and it smells SO NICE. It's been a dry winter and we haven't had much precipitation at all. BWAHAHAHA! Sonny just trilled at me and when I went to scratch his ears I noticed that he's slightly damp. He must've come dashing back in! Now he wants lap time. D'awwww. :)

Now he's giving me dirty looks because I'm typing and not petting. Also, I'm hearing people across the street at the lake packing up and chasing down windblown objects. ...I should probably close the window soon...

Urgh. Sleep was good last night, but intermittent. Probably around three- or four-ish Sassy jumped up on the bed, walked up my leg and chest to chirp in my face, then hopped off and strolled across the bed to the desk next to it to chew on a plastic bag that I'd left there yesterday. After blearily rolling over and shooing him off, I passed out again for a bit until he did it again a few minutes later. Some hours after that, Bluecheez, my MiL's cat who is finally feeling better after being a bit ill and "blah" the past couple of weeks decided that she wanted to drink straight from the cup of water on my desk instead of the bowl on the floor filled with the same water. I woke up to my computer monitors turning on because she had bumped the mouse and trod on the keyboard, and I was able to remove her before she did any damage. The second time I wasn't as quick when she did the same exact thing but caused the cup to somersault over the keyboard and land on the floor, scaring herself off. Fortunately, the cup only had a little bit left at the bottom and is hard plastic, so there was no mess to clean up. GAH. At least Sonny was being quiet, curling up on the pillow next to mine, sphinxing out and purring as he dozed off.

And the boys also know that I will let them out if they "ask." Normally they have a kitty-door of sorts, but there's an unfixed tom in the area who began coming into the house, eating the food, peeing on things, and hissing at them. (They're normally chill about other cats and they do NOT like him at all!) Therefore we've had to block that entrance let them in and out manually. A few minutes ago Sassy trotted into the room, chirped at me, and after I gave him ear scritchies he padded to the bedroom door, stopped, and looked at me expectantly. I followed him to the back door where he sat down and trilled at me again, and happily ran outside when I opened it for him. Sonny dashed out behind him, giving me a look of "well, it's about time!" I'm not too worried about them being out too long or getting "locked out"; Sassy's howl can be heard through closed doors (amazing, since he has such a tiny little "mew" normally), and they do come when I call for them if they hear me. I laughed when I called for Sassy the other night and he galloped from the far backyard to the door. I didn't think that a cat of his size could move that fast!

No new pics in a few days, have a repost from a week or two ago, to make up for Sunday Afternoon Ramblings. Time for more tea and more studying. Yay!

I love beardies, I just don't have the resources to care for them appropriately, so I don't have one. I beardie-sit for a guy, tho. His beardie is a male named "Mr Sketch". I forget how old Mr Sketch is, but he's gotta be up there in lizard years because he's very large. I'd never seen one that big before. He's got his own harness and leash and goes for walkies around the neighborhood or out to go shopping from time to time. He digs on going out, too. Especially if there's asphalt him to bask on - and there's plenty of asphalt in cities!

Mrs CDK: Testing a free photo sharing site. SlickPic doesn't seem too bad but it tags all the photos i share. I don't think I like that "feature". Oh well, I am paid up on PB until August so I have plenty of time to figure this out...

Websites and software developers seem to be dumbing down anymore. They're either trying to provide better support for tablets or Idiocracy has finally become a reality.

syzygy whizz: I bought pretty pressed-glass ashtrays for my clowder's 'treat bowls'.  Gives that 'fancy' feel, easy to clean and heavy enough that they don't slide across the floor during the 'lick this clean' stage.
They know the sound of the dishes clinking together- and it causes instant assembly.

GoGo thinks she's a steam shovel or something when she eats, so I bought some thick, clear plastic mat type stuff that you can cut to size. That's her feeding station. Now when she does her scoop/lift/chompchompchomp thing that makes half her kibbles fly all over, they're all on the mat. I just pick it up, pour the reclaimed kibbles back into her bowl before she gets them wet (she drinks the same way for some reason) and then wash it and put it back. Easy to clean and nothing slides around. Works great. I don't even remember where I got it, I've had that stuff so long, but I'm glad I thought of using it that way when I saw it!

Real Women Drink Akvavit: akimbotoo: Real Women Drink Akvavit: Oh, my! The GoGo Beastie is a little salmon hog! She doesn't usually like hoomin fuds cuz she's weird, but I made some salmon with a quickie asian inspired glaze on it for dinner and she was next to my foot, so, I "accidentally" dropped a little piece on the floor. She really, really liked it. I had to fight her for my dinner. My mom was laughing so hard when I finally picked up my plate and ran for the safety of my lair. The cat actually was running after me.

[www.stuffistumbledupon.com image 310x310]

/I gave up and let her have some of her own in her fancy bowl
//we're all spoiled here, I think

See? That is why we love you! :D

LOL!

gremlin1: lilyspad: Phew....finally caught up! Actually was there a while back, but step-dad called, and then landlord popped up to visit (again)..3rd time this week. I really love the guy, and he's a good friend, but I'm around people and on my feet all day, and he isn't. I value his opinions on stuff, and we have really good conversations....but I don't like company all that much! I think he gets lonely.....(and I'm in his will, so......:D)

That sounds the start of one of those British murder mysteries

Lord Peter is gent for whom my cat Wimsey is named.
CSB:
White cat (neighbors called him "Blizzard") from down the street decided he'd rather live here.
I have this 'thing' about not naming cats for their colors, so I figured he'd tell me who he was.
One night I was re-reading "Busman's Honeymoon" (in which Lord Peter and Harriet Vane get married)
and I got to the part where the Wimsey coat of arms was described:
"Argent (white or silver), three mice courant (running) and a domestick Catt pounced as to spring".
White cat jumped into my lap while I was reading this.

"OK...is your name 'Lord Peter'?"
Nope...
"How about just 'Peter'?"
Ummm...naw.
"Alright...what about 'Wimsey'?"
Purr...headbump.

Well, had fun reading all teh posts since I last sat down! Hours ago, and my foot is telling me in no uncertain terms it wants a break!

Eli has plucked part of his belly hair off. So we are back to the cortizone cream. Going to do the revolution on Sunday.

I fed 4 hungry teenagers tonight. Such fun! I made chicken tortilla soup. My son and his team are making their cardboard boats(cardboats) for the physics class. They have to paddle across the pool in them. Eli says he will watch the broadcast! Lol! The grp is making two boats, so that one can be filmed for the local morning news program. It is quite complicated, with calculations and lab notes and a final conclusion paper. Which I am sure my kid will write.

Meanwhile one team member is just dying to pet Eli, and Eli is hazing none of that! Figures!

Let's try this again.

Thank you every one, for your warm welcomes! Vicariously works much better!

Evidently no pics this week... Photobucket mobile has become strange and unfamiliar to me. I'll make it my homework this week to get some pictures resized and uploaded.

A bit of background, 'My men' are both 8 years old, TC a few months older. Barbossa is my laid back snuggle bunny, a pound rescue, and a black medium hair. Makes moving around at night perilous. He was declawed by a previous owner, so he's strictly indoor.

TC is a Floridian Former Feral grey tabby who was supposed to be put down when he showed up bloodied and with a large abcess from his tom catting days, his owner at the time took him in and paid for his vaccinations, surgery, and neutering. She moved last year and couldn't take him with, and she knew I was looking for a buddy for Barby so she talked me into taking him. Since that day, that mouthy little shiat ate my three pet mice, knocked over countless bowls, cups, books, dvds, a plant....He had regular visits to the vet, one because of the mice, a second because of an allergy to pinesol, his IBS flare up, and some teeth work. He is FIV positive, and strictly indoor.

He's a terror and a horrible influence on my 'sweet old man', but I wouldn't give that brat up. Partly because he answers to 'ass'. :) And maybe because he keeps us on our toes and we need it.

Just signed up! I'm trying to transfer files from PB over now and not having much luck. I may just have to download everything to my 'puter and then upload to smugmug.
I can't wait to hit the 'delete account' button on PB.

I think I'll leave my account there and just let it die back to non-pro.  PB can enjoy the inconvenience of continuing to provide the maximum allowable free bandwidth for the thousands of pics I've already got hosted on there, even if I never post anything new again.

[ragrunwell.smugmug.com image 503x362]

In case you change your mind, I found that I can use ftp to get the albums down to my pc from PB. From there it should be a simple import to smugmug.
Any ftp client should work, but firefox has a nice little ftp plugin. You need to connect to ftp.photobucket.com

I'm going to leave my stuff on PB until this thread closes, then it's lights out for photobucket.

Heheh. Don't you hate it when you've gotten to the point that when you read something that doesn't compute, you automatically assume that there's something wrong with your eyes and/or your brain and not with what you're reading?

I have times where my eyes will see something, but my brain is busy buffering the info
and I realize after the fact that my eyes had seen a word that stands out and makes me
stop and go back over stuff to find that word and the context..

I scan at a couple thousand wpm, my brain decodes considerably slower than that.

I made this for you before I ran off to the grocery store but I forgot to post it.

Heheh.  Don't you hate it when you've gotten to the point that when you read something that doesn't compute, you automatically assume that there's something wrong with your eyes and/or your brain and not with what you're reading?

Happens more and more to me the older I get.  I'm sure in 10 or 15 years my perception of reality will not correlate whatsoever to anything in the real world.

But yeah I like Smugmug.  Still trying to understand the parameters of their search function but otherwise it's very pleasant to use.  My Photofrkkit subscription runs out in April, and since they're not fixing any of the things I and many others have been pleading with them to fix, and their customer service now appears to be staffed by brain-damaged monkeys, I will very likely tell them to go fly a kite.  Sometimes I wish I could throw feces over the internet.

spinach gunk: maynerdkitty: I did not think it wise to be caught in the cab of a small s-10 with a feral kitty and playful dog.

What a pretty little critter.  I hope someone managed to snatch her up and give her a home, or at least get her somewhere safe where there are fewer cars and fewer playful hungry pooches.

Thanks for the caption!

Fiona is getting real good at riding in the truck but she whines when she smells the hamburgers at the drive up. She has learned not to eat too fast as sometimes they are hot. I put her cup of ice water in the cup holder and she lays on the seat and rides with her lower jaw in the cup and licks the ice as we ride. Silly girl. She wanted me to run down some squirrels she saw running across the road. Gave me a dirty look when I didn't drive in someones yard and let her out. I think she is getting lazy.

gremlin1: sherpa18: When my Dad passed away my sister and I went thru his book collection and I was quite surprised to find about 2 cases of them were mine to begin with. After we were finished we took all the leftovers to the Soldiers and Sailors Home, they were given about 20 boxes of books (hardback not paperbacks). The guys were really happy to get them. I still donate my books when I go thru my shelves.

Thanks for a great idea! In my neck of the woods, it seems that nobody wants used books anymore - and it breaks my heart to think that they might end up in the trash :o(

tigerose: Happenstance

I went to buy cat food.
A flat of cans,
In the form my cat likes.

And there,
I found two shelter cats.
Depressed.

No longer looking to interact.
Ignoring their toys.
Sad.

Their sorrow
Radiates.

They no longer believe,
No hope.

They are not kittens.
They are so handsome,

It makes me weep.

I want to put on their cages a sign,
"Take me home,
I am for you!"

One surrendered  cat speaks.
I am older, wiser,
I know what comfort a lap holds.

I know how to make you laugh,
Lift your spirits.

My fur is thick.
I can hold your tears.

I want to be with you.
No other will do.
Take a chance,
Take me home.

Into your heart.
There I will dwell.
All the days of my life.

And at the end of my days,
I will keep you in my heart,
Cherish you in my soul,
And rejoice.

tigerose 3/1/13

Oh, man, this got me weepy. I volunteer for a local shelter up at the nearby Petsmart, and the older cats that obviously had homes at one time are the saddest. And they tend to stay the longest. *excuse me while I go find a tissue*

..and a chuckle, to lighten my heart again...

Alvin K. Nersessian was born on February 13, 1937 and passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012.  Which made him 75 - I think that qualifies for describing him as "elderly".

Holy cow... was so tired last night, went to bed at midnight (instead of 4:00am like usual).  Slept until... noon!  Walked & fed Buddy (getting thoroughly rained upon in the process -- it's a monsoon out there today!), had a light snack, then Bud & I decided to lounge in nice warm bed with Mr. Gunk just a little longer.  You know, because, rain.

It's 1:30 now and I'm just tucking into a nice hot coffee.  It's been a long week.  So nice to wake up to Caturday!  A cuddly husband is nice to wake up to too, but since he was sick last night, he's still sleeping.  :)

Bathia_Mapes, am reminded of the 2-day move due to distance between Bad Homburg near Frankfurt am Main to W Berlin, a lifetime ago.  Army shipped a quantity of stuff for us (didn't have to put it on the duty train ourselves) but we did tie a steamer trunk on top of our Opel station wagon & stuffed both trunk & station wagon to the gills for the drive over, via the transit Autobahn (for which Flag Orders were always needed). This was Thanksgiving weekend of 1973, like fools we camped at Helmstedt (western end of Autobahn) as we feared to leave Our Stuff unguarded overnight. Yes, it was nippy!

Speaking of homes...
The other day, I discovered that the sewer line out to the municipal sewer trunk is blocked.
I suspect a magnolia tree that mom planed right over the sewer 20 years ago is the culprit.

We finally got a guy out to rooter the line today, and he had no effect.
So they're sending out a guy tomorrow with a camera they can snake in to see what is causing the blockage.
(I don't know how many megapickles it has)
I can always pee in the bushes out back.
Unfortunately I have to hop in the car and try to find a public restroom for #2.

There is a major hospital about 1.5 miles from the house, so with enough lead time, I can head there.
The restrooms are clean, and they're available 24 hours. It's not perfect, but it has to do for now.

Well, as the as the tuxedo cat earlier said..."Ruffle my whiskers and fluff mai tail!"
I learned something today.
The hard way. Which, of course, makes it stick so you don't have to learn it again.

You know those metal things they have in the bathroom stalls that dispense those tissue paper hats?
The ones that are kind of a cross between a sombrero and a Daniel Boone hat with the tail in the back?

I learned this evening that those are, in fact, not hats
!!!

When I came walking out of the restroom wearing one and folding a couple to take home with me
to give to the neighbor's kids, one of the housekeeping ladies tore into me.

"What de hell you doin' there??", she shouted at me.
I figured I was in trouble for taking extras...
"Just taking a couple of these hats with me to give to the neighbor kids. I'll pay for them if that's necessary."
She chewed me up one side and down the other and said if she saw me there again, she'd call security.

A guy has to poop occasionally, so I guess I'll need to find me some other place to "take care of business"
until we get this sewer fiasco rectified. Ergo, no hushpuppies for QJ for the foreseeable future.

/end CSQJ

Threadjack for mention of a hoo-mon whose time ran out Tue; retired Major Tom Griffin, a Doolittle Raider who lived here in Zinzinnati for a long time. He was 96; had said maybe he could make it to 100. He spoke to our amateur radio club, among many many groups, back in the last century when we still met in Cheviot (where he lived). Hibernians got their act together for 2012 St Pat's parade & named him Grand Marshal. Saw this in yesterday's paper & had a sad, even tho he was almost as old as dirt. I'd been able to talk to him on landline after St Pat announcement, just about a year ago; he was still bright & cheery. He'll be missed; was one of the Really Good Guys.  Now just 4 Raiders remain. Public memorial service Saturday week, complete with B-25 flyover; must be elsewhere then due to prior commitment to the Still Living.
