L33t Squirrel: mousiebelle: I second this opinion!  We get the "hot" variety (which isn't really all that spicy to me, but soooo tasty!)  I usually do peppers, onions, carrots, and celery along with chicken.  Don't get to eat it much right now because mom can't eat it - we make it when she's not home for dinner.  Also with the group of rice-lovers!  I could eat rice several times a day w/o a problem!  My dad did that... Hispanic, but spent time in Korea, Vietnam & Japan in the service... so many of the foods I grew up loving were of Hispanic and Asian origin.

*Internet fistbump.* Swap out the onions and peppers for mushrooms and that's exactly the same way I make it. The "hot" is tasty and mild to me, but I grew up on proper Mexican and Asian foods, so my setting for "hot" food is a bit skewed. Stuff that has made people break into a sweat is tingly to me. Though I've never gone into a Thai place and requested that the cook "hurt me." The hubby's co-worker did that once at a place she was a frequent customer, and taunted the cook that "the last time I was unimpressed" when several of them went to lunch together. He remarked that it was delicious, but that first bite damn near knocked him out of his chair. :D

I love the golden curry too, I make it with peppers and onions and whatever veggies I have on hand, but, I hate rice. So I put it over egg noodles. and then I eat it with chopsticks. I know that is not normal but that is the way I like it. I had to order chopsticks from Amazon because the local HEB does not carry them.

Don't EVER do that. They take that as a serious challenge that they WILL win. I went to a Thai place near our local post office and when they asked if I wanted my tofu broccoli "mild" I must have given the waitress a "you farkin' wussies" look because without considering where exactly I was I told her I liked spicy food. I swear, you could barely even SEE the tofu through all the hot pepper flakes.

When the person doing the cooking finds an excuse to come out of the kitchen and stare at you - well, that means something's up. What was up was my hair standing on end. What was also up all was me all night because my stubborn self ate the whole thing. 'Cuz that'll show 'em, right?

/I shall take "medium" or even "mild" with a smile on my face from them from now on

L33t Squirrel: ... Well, that and thoroughly dousing the chicken with Sriracha, ginger, and sesame oil in a wok.

Speaking as a Tabasco addict for the last ~ 20 years or so, I kept hearing about the rooster sauce in countless TFD foodie threads. I finally found it, and after trying it, thank you for reminding me to kick the Tabasco bottle to the curb.

Speaking as an unrepentant Sriracha addict, I can attest to making and using the following:

1/2 cup kosher salt
5 teaspoons Sriracha
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix the salt with the Sriracha. Spread the mixture out thinly on the baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread the Sriracha salt out thinly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Put the baking sheet in the oven and turn off the heat immediately. Allow the salt to sit in the residual heat until completely dry. It can then be stored for future use in an airtight container at room temperature.

I use this on everything from fried eggs to steak.

Meep, I think I turned Caturday into a food thread. Sorry! (Though in my defense, we've been talking about GOOD food...) As an apology for all of my chatter, here y'go. Took this pic of Sonny on the back porch a bit earlier before the rain. He heard me fiddling with the phone for a photo, but it came out pretty well considering I was also juggling a mug of tea at that time.

...or NOT. PBukkit just shat itself, error 503. *Sigh.*

Back to my CCNA homework, trying to figure out what I'm not doing right, and I think I know what it is. Layer 8 error again, I imagine! :P

Oh what the merry hell... NOW it works after I go and post. Screw this, I'm going to fix errors in my homework network layout, since that's something that CAN be done.

predle: domari: domari: OK I'll try Lilly's picture one more time... <img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/littlemews/8524023208/">

So why won't my photos show up anymore?? I couldn't get them to post last week either.

Fark is changing the way you post, if you click on the Use HTML Buttons (above to the right), that will bring up the old way. I haven't had much luck using Flickr with the link picture button (just left of the ?) and am thinking of joining the mass migration to smugmug.

When I tried that it turned everything into HTML and the photo still wouldn't show in the preview.
