Flower has learned to get up and down by climbing the metal fence and jumping the last foot or so. I thought they would climb the big tree behind the garage as it is less of a jump and looks easier to climb. They may be using that route too but I haven't seen it yet.

I think I posted this before, but I took notes this time. It's a Quetzal, from South America. Very pretty!

CSS time! I'm still trying to find the pic a friend took during her Great Central and South American Adventure. At first you just see a pic of another one of our friends because he's centered in the frame. He's leaning against a tree, all casual like, smiling purty for the camera in a manly man kinda way. Nice pic, I thought. Then when she's showing us the pic and we're all "yeah, that's a good pic of him" and she says "No, dudes, look what's in the tree". So we look - the biggest farkin' snake I've seen outside of captivity (and certainly never seen one that big in a tree) was in the tree, right above him, looking down at our friend like "oh, how sweet! they brought me a snack!"

Those snakes down there apparently get pretty darn big. They're also really stealthy, even for a snake, because they didn't even notice the snake while they were taking the pic.

If I ever find that pic, I'll definitely post it. We'll play "can you spot the apex predator?" Trust me, you'll notice it, and it ain't my friend in that pic. He was unarmed. ;-p

They have some really interesting animals down in South America. These cute lil guys are baby capybaras.

I had never even heard of them until many years ago I was watching the old The Tick cartoon and Tick found a Capybara and thought it was a dog. A talking dog. He kept it and named it "Speak". IRL though, they are the world's largest rodent. They get really big - a bit over 100 pounds average - and have partially webbed feet because they spend a lot of time in the water when they're not foraging. One of the names for them is akin to "water pig". They're vegetarians, but people hunt and eat them. As long as they don't hunt and eat these two cuties, we're cool.

I'd go down to South America and look at all the critters some day, but you just know I'd end up in Patagonia, just so I could say I had been to the ends of the earth (almost) and it wasn't that exciting. Except for maybe the random, errant penguin.

My goodness you all were busy last night! I am lurving it! I can't believe I slept so late, and well! Finally able to find relatively comfy spots around my bruised bits. :)

Eli has been helping me snooze. And yes, the bed was nice and warm last night. Feline Bedwarmers..aply to cold sheets, wait 5 mins and viola! Warm and fuzzy sheets!

Skipped pg 12, leave for l8r, type at ft of what looks like Lucky Pg 13 which I slept right thru.

Just e-d domari to request tigerose's real name, as she said, at foot of Happenstance which she plans to print to hang near adults' cages.
Am sure Tom enjoyed playing with mouse at maynerdkitty's new farm! Not sure if mouse still lived or not --  considerable uproar over USAF bombing Guam with poisoned mouse carcasses hoping to kill brown snakes that've eaten too many native birds.
Best go Clean Up for all-afternoon chorus rehearsal, hope to get back in here before time to go.

Okay...fark is messing with me. Keeps kicking me back to the previous page every time I post! WTF???

Seems to me the last time I saw that behavior was when some posts were deleted
and the counters had to reset.

Those were no ladies, my friend. Not at all.

Testing a free photo sharing site. SlickPic doesn't seem too bad but it tags all the photos i share. I don't think I like that "feature". Oh well, I am paid up on PB until August so I have plenty of time to figure this out...

Apparently Tom is unclear on the concept of "re-settable" mouse trap.
/I hope we can repair it
//this is the only way Tom can catch mice

I didn't find any free sites that tickled my fancy. I ended up with a SmugMug subscription and so far I have no regrets. I also read many forum posts giving high praise for ZenFolio,

I'm paid up on PB until April, but I'm deleting my account at the close of this thread to drive home my displeasure.

Websites and software developers seem to be dumbing down anymore. They're either trying to provide better support for tablets or Idiocracy has finally become a reality.
