The Ice Queen: So spoke with the vet tonight, apparently Rocky is QUITE hyperthyroid. Going to pick up a weeks worth of meds and then she'll get an exam to see how she's doing before we start fiddling too much with the dose. I'll have to get a copy of the results so I can keep down here in case she has problems during the week and go to the vet here. She's probably about 1/3 or so the size now. She might actually be able to fit in the box if I still knew where it was 3 years later :p[i1210.photobucket.com image 768x1024]
Bathia_Mapes: I had to be hard on myself and go through all my books (and trust me, there were a lot of books to go through, over a 1,000) and weed out any duplicates or books I hadn't read in years...
quantum_jellyroll: ...There is a major hospital about 1.5 miles from the house, so with enough lead time, I can head there...
domari: quantum_jellyroll: You know those metal things they have in the bathroom stalls that dispense those tissue paper hats? They're not hats, they're ass gaskets.
borg: Elderly subby? where in the story does it say he was "Elderly"? he looks to be about 62 that not "Elderly"

Temp threadsend once more, after spending/wasting time Editing.CrankiAndi, you may need soundings made on your property to ensure the absence of sinkholes like the one the bedroom somewhere in Tampa fell into. Plumbicon says "they's likely alligators at the bottom of them sinkholes" --Very sad tale on evening news. B**** of less than legal age let her pit bull Bruiser starve, twice. 2d time to death. There was vid; poor dog was so emaciated & weak he needed to be euthanised. She was cited 1st time but let go & given the poor dog back to complete his torment. This is in next county north; believe she's been cited again. Should be more than cited; should be jailed.

tigerose: HappenstanceI went to buy cat food.A flat of cans,In the form my cat likes. And there,I found two shelter cats.Depressed.No longer looking to interact.Ignoring their toys.Sad.Their sorrowRadiates. They no longer believe,No hope. They are not kittens. They are so handsome,It makes me weep.I want to put on their cages a sign,"Take me home,I am for you!"One surrendered cat speaks.I am older, wiser,I know what comfort a lap holds.I know how to make you laugh,Lift your spirits. My fur is thick.I can hold your tears.I want to be with you.No other will do.Take a chance,Take me home.Into your heart. There I will dwell. All the days of my life. And at the end of my days,I will keep you in my heart,Cherish you in my soul,And rejoice.tigerose 3/1/13

maynerdkitty: gremlin1: syzygy whizz: laulaja: *old friend on backseat*This is probably all wrong, but I've found that letting them ride loose reduces their stress level...going by the amount of protesting. They've ridden often enough that they usually will just park themselves in the back window and enjoy the scenery.Sometimes it even takes a bit of coaxing to get them out of the car when we get home*...they're quite comfortable where they are, thank you.* they only get to ride free on the homebound journey...otherwise they DO have to put up with the carrier. If I only have Gremie in the car he rides in the crate to wherever we are going and then he gets to drive home. He sits in my lap with paws on the steering wheel. I know that is a big no,no, but believe it or not he doesn't get in the way and he is quiet and content. If Jack is in the car with us poor Gremie rides in the crate both ways otherwise it would be an accident definitely waiting to happenI was on my way in last night from the farm, I stopped at the Jack in the Box to grab a quick meal and I saw this little fluffy one in the drive through.[farm9.staticflickr.com image 500x282]It ran behind my truck and to the curb to escape the black and white bull dog that was tracking it. I rolled my window down and called to her but she did not respond, she was focused on the dog across the parking lot. The line moved and I had to pull forward but I saw the car behind me open their doors to try to get her in their car.I would have just opened the door and scooped her in but, I don't have health insurance right now and I had this in the truck with me waiting for her kids meal:[farm9.staticflickr.com image 500x282]I did not think it wise to be caught in the cab of a small s-10 with a feral kitty and playful dog.
