I wonder when we can have our USB/WiFi/whatever interfaces implanted directly in our skulls, or any other body part. I'm quite sure I will see that day.

Connecting with other people will have a whole new meaning.

When I read TFA's headline, Nicolelis was the first name that popped into my head, totally without the help of implants. In a few decades, there will be statues of that guy all over the place. That, or effigies. Or both.

CSB: a week or so ago, I dropped by to visit the lab where I used to work, downstairs from the Nicolelis lab. There was nobody there, all the furniture was gone, new floors, new paint, everything. Turns out that some idiots left a high-pressure water line open a month or two ago, and dumped 25 MILLION gallons of water through the building's first floor and basements. Fortunately, the vivarium where lab animals stay was somehow spared, even though it's in a basement.

I was astonished during a trip to D.C. in 6th grade to discover the National Institute of Mental Health was a real thing.

Also, my sparklie is telling me this may be a repeat.

It will be, once the mice get Bluetooth integration.  And then all the Mac FanBoys will be rushing out to buy that latest i-Device, knowing full well that Apple will literally be controlling their thoughts.
