And after you "accidentally" followed her into the bathroom for the third time, did she finally go through with the restraining order?

A nerdy girl in glasses.

I'd show her what my special purpose was for.

She looks great for 65.  Still hot.  Altho I think her face may be surgically stuck in that expression....

Like the Hammer of Thor.

Exactly this.

Don't get me wrong...She's fantastically well-preserved. That round, kewpie-doll, almost Betty Boop-style cuteness she used to have has evolved into a VERY alluring sort of maturity. I still would.

Even so, that sort of stretched-tight thing she has going on seems to be more and more distressingly common as cosmetic surgery becomes de rigueur.

I'd still show her my special purpose

There's obviously a portrait of her in her attic slowly aging.

Aw, I missed her in A Little Night Music, because I had just bought tickets to see it when Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta-Jones were in it. If I had known it was going to be Elaine Stritch and Bernadette Peters in a few months, I might have waited.

2013-02-28 02:44:41 PM
She's way more than looks. Yeah she is well preserved, but she is also funny, smart, and charming.

If she's getting plastic surgery, her doctor is very skilled. Kenny Rogers and Nikki Cox should have found someone as skilled.

/I won't post Kenny Rogers and Nikki Cox "after" pictures, but take my word, they're awful

First time I've looked at her face. Something is missing.

When I saw Streisand on the Oscars Sunday, I first thought of one exchange from The Jerk:

"I heard a song on the radio that reminded me of the way we were!"
"What was it?"
"'The Way We Were!'"

2013-02-28 03:08:37 PM
I'd bang that like a snare drum in an all special-needs marching band!

This woman has been a dream fark of mine since I was a kiddo in the 70's...
When I didn't even know what a dream fark was!
Even at 65...I'd still devour that...greedily and happily.

Dang!

Wow!  On second thought, I do NOT need this paddle ball game, or this remote control...

I wonder if she would let me stick my rear end thermometer in her.

mahuika: brap: I try to see everything she does on Broadway.  I lurve you Bernadette.

Aw, I missed her in A Little Night Music...

She was brilliant as usual.   Send in the Clownsis a difficult tune to pull off (while acting).  She played it perfectly.  Realizing love is a game, that she misplayed all her chips, and her game is over.

It was truly one of the most powerful moments of musical theater I've ever experienced.  I got a little weepy.

My only other Bernadette Peters story is running into her some years back on Madison Avenue, she was so adorable I believe it is the only time in my life I have ever literally been starstruck.  The urge to touch her cute curls was so overwheliming that I had to run in the other direction red-faced like a heart-broken schoolboy.

2013-02-28 03:26:22 PM
The face might be surgically enhanced but it takes hard work to have a body that banging. There are 30 year olds who cannot compare.

The Jerk is one of my all-time favorite films. I wasn't alive in the 70s, so I didn't have the opportunity to see her in her prime.. but it seems like she barely aged at all from the film I've seen a hundred times.

One time, when she guested on THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW, she did some musical number wearing a
halter-topped spangly jumpsuit thing with a little cutout heart right on her buttcheek, and during part of the
number they zoomed in on it and you could see bare skin.  Racy stuff for the mid 70s, and I think that may
have been the exact moment when puberty began for me.

/Either that, or the hula dancer from the opening credits of the original HAWAII 5-0, I'm not sure.

I'd never seen it until my daughter had it on the t.v. a couple of months ago.  Carol Burnett was freaking hilarious.  Favorite line: "Why any kid would want to be an orphan is beyond me."

It's a pity they're casting Meryl Streep instead of Peters as The Witch in the film version of Into the Woods.
