The video is cool, but the kinetic sculpture soundtrack left a lot to be desired.

That ain't shiat for freaky. Intricate, but not quite freaky compared to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZfmPREbTd8

And this is one of the many reasons I subscribe to Cyriak's channel.

The music reminds me of the stuff you could make on the first Macintosh. It was cool in 1985, sort of annoying now. Video was clever.

If the weaponized consumer-virus mechano-droids don't get you, the jumping-girl/anti-jumping girl negation at the end will.

I think cyriak's stuff should qualify as 2D sculpture.

Anybody have any idea what software he's using?

socodog: Anybody have any idea what software he's using?

I use adobe photoshop and after effects for most of my animations, and have worked on a wide variety of commercial projects, from tv advertising to channel idents to music videos.

Pretty standard setup, I think. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not the tool he wields. I can barely use Photoshop to any useful end and I can guarantee I don't have the patience or creativity to generate anything meaningful with After Effects.

Cyriak's great. Doesn't always have to be weird or a freakout. Nice to see him do something tamer.

Noticed this happening a lot lately.. when it does it, and if the setting exists, drop or go up to a lower/higher rez setting and it always takes right off at high speed for me.  You would think they could use a halfway decent player that loaded worth a fark.

/considering this trick works on a variety of computers running different operating systems, worth a shot to try

Cyriak is a treasure.

I almost wish he had done his own soundtrack for this one.

Great link.  I too like Bonobo's music.  Here's one from 2007(?) accompanying an inspiring video/slideshow of the Xtracycle cargo bicycle (life changing in itself BTW).  Challenge: Vimeo

I'm totally gonna sound like "that guy" but that didn't get weird enough for me. The linked one up thread is much more mind blowing...and many of his others.

He does good work and I enjoy it....but I want to freak out and be freaked out.

I'm glad he's making money, though. Cool watching him share all of those little experiments over the years, then watching it turn into a career.
