Weird.  But I'm wondering how the Memphis tea party will operate with only half their members that day.

Fark those guys.  They took my baby away.

For my next impression Jessie Owens.

The Venn diagram of the sets "Tea Party" and "KKK" forms a perfect concentric circle. The Tea Party circle is the inner one.

Just what we need: More streets named "Martin Luther King Blvd."

Streets.... Parks....

Even the sons of confederate veterans don't want the KKK to show up btw.

Maybe they'll march in Orange Mound or Frayser.

/they won't

Why would you not set up cameras and sell tickets for pay per view broadcasts to this?

For some reason, every time I see KKK, I either think of the Blues Brothers or this:

touchfm.org

Which makes the KKK funny!

Yeah. They won't. Especially since they said no masks and no guns allowed.

KKK: We're so proud of being white, we cover our faces so nobody can recognize us.

I did kind of chuckle about the guy who joined the klan by phone, but then changed his mind when he found out that he can't cover his face.  If you are going to be ignorant, at least show us who you are.

FTFY. Statistically speaking, the odds of any Southerner being "Pure White" are roughly the same as any non-Jewish German never having a Nazi relative in WW2. Ask ex-Governator Arnie about how that can bite you in the ass.

Now, you want to see really white people, come up to Antigonish County here in Nova Scotia, and start looking around at anyone with a Mac in front of their name, which is basically everyone. Folks so friggin' white they scare the KKK.

IIRC, the last time this happened in Memphis there was like 30 klan members and better than a thousand protesters.

I would bet the mix will be similar this time also. Afterall, Memphis is like 67% black - the klan will not get a warm welcome.

Just the portion that prevents Southern states from enacting voter exclusion laws. It's the 21st century and we are seriously having discussions about voting rights? Man I wish we had just let those southern states go, because they are nothing but ignorant trash.

Well, there is no portion that prevents some states from enacting voter exclusion laws, regardless, not worth discussing with people such as yourself

The KKK wants protestors.  They want news cameras.  The best thing to do is just have no one show up

Perhaps. But I don't see the KKK being like the WBC (funded by lawsuits). Sometimes you have to speak out againt what's wrong - because too many of the bad people see silence as acceptance.

The people who want to stop memorializing the likes of Nathan Bedford Forrest must be overjoyed about this.

The legitimate argument against the renamings (with which, for the record, I disagree) is that fondess for the Confederacy is for tradition, not racism. This pretty much puts an end to that nonsense.

(In fact, when I block the thought rays with my tinfoil hat, I realize this is a false flag operation. Memphis is an inside job! Wake up, sheeple!)

Being from West Virginia, I had to go to Memphis to see real racism. In WV, there are so few blacks the hillbillies might as well be hating leprechauns.

In Memphis, watching blacks live in a city where a major park has a giant statue of the founder of the kkk, and the site of the murder of Martin Luther King Jr., the tensions are a bit higher.

Yeah, and KKK rallies have been rare in the South for over 30 years now. I've only seen a handful of Kluxers since 1968. The real KKK action is in the socially enlightened Midwest and plains states, where they rub elbows with survivalists and neo-nazis.

Last time my dad and I went to a Grizzlies game we heard shots fired as we left the stadium.  Good times.

CSB time:
I used to know Prince Mongo, he's a good spirit. I did ask him an uncomortable question though. You see, the last election he seriously ran in was when Dick Hackett was mayor, and up for re-election against Herenton. Mongo took almost 16k votes, in an election that Herenton won with only 170+ (disputed) votes.

So I asked him if he felt that his running had unwittingly ushered in Herenton by siphoning votes away from Hackett. His response was a bit confused, but basically amounted too "what will be will be". He didn't seriously campaign again though.

Don't stay home over this; just don't go downtown.  East of Danny Thomas, you won't even know there's a thing.

I am just hoping their parade route gets down to the Lorraine Motel.  It would be a good time for all involved.

Parade permit should require them to end at MLK Riverside Park. Preferably a dozen yards or so past the west side of the park.

This always seems to happen. It is like the 1950's in reverse.
