Yes but they're popular, and that makes Democrats uncomfortable! It couldn't be due to these issues being couched in white, male privilege, racism, xenophobia, misogyny or idiocy!

Classic Quote of Today:    from Bill Freeza of Forbes"Well, Jay Carney, explain this to me: The most imperial president in American history, a man who boasts that he will rule by Executive Action if Congress refuses to pass legislation he favors, can't figure out how to direct spending cuts in a way that does the least harm to the American people?...I can't wait."

At this point, because of the way the GOP has acted for the last 4 years, and in particular the last 4 months, I'm prepared to accept "Because Fark You, Bill Freeza" as the WH response.  Eventually, and I'll be honest, it took some time, but eventually you exhaust all your good will and everyone just hates you and doesn't rightly give two farks what you think, what you have to say, or how 'clever' you're being.

So... basically...

Too late, assholes.  You lost the messaging on this one and if you can't figure out how to get back on that gravy train you're going to find yourselves in a world of hurt in 2014.  I know personal responsibility is something y'all struggle with, but you've got nobody to blame but yourselves.

This is what Republicans really believe.

Scarepocaplyse is upon us.  Thanks Obama.

just because you are irrationally afraid of the President doesn't mean he is a fear monger. When the President's possible overreaction to complicated economic issues leads us into a pair of open ended wars, then you can make your case.

I love that the right still thinks they are at the same place they were when Reagan was president, despite the total lack of a real liberal party, as well as the Democrats repeated co-opting of Republican platform ideals.

The only thing the GOP has left is being pro-gun, anti-abortion, anti-gay, and using tax cuts for the rich to pay for everything.

Barring the gerrymandered house seats, I think it is quite apparent that they are on the wrong side of nearly every one of these wedge issues.  Don't forget that Bachmann almost lost her seat despite outspending her opponent nearly 10:1 in a district engineered to be red.

I didn't think I would notice the extra $100 missing each month.

I noticed the extra $100 missing each month.

Of course, it's helped me re-evaluate where my money goes but to the detriment to the local economy, as I am not going out as much each month spending a little here and a little there.

At times, it seems as if "we have a $16 trillion debt" is the sum total of the party's argumentation.

Hey now, that's not fair.  They also have rape and guns, and being raped for your guns, and being raped because you didn't carry a gun, and all the other lovely combinations of rape and guns that they can come up with.

So, here's what the morons are going to do to our research capabilities:

former NIH director Elias Zerhouni said:

"I think the suddenness of it and the depth of it would be a disaster for research, which is not an activity that you can turn on and off from year to year. It's an activity that takes time. The most   impacted  are the young, new investigator scientists, who are coming into science, and will now abandon the field of science. There will be a generational gap created.
An average grant is five  years long, because science is like that. So think: That means that every one year, only 20 percent of the grants come to their end. So any one year, NIH only has 20 percent  of its money available for new grants. At NIH, about half of the grants get terminated at five years, but the rest get to be continued, as you don't want to throw away good research. So the half of it that's left has to go to very promising areas of science, and you have 10 percent left.
If you take 8 percent of that 10 percent, it's going to come from new science, new people, young investigators; we are going to maim our innovation capabilities if you do these abrupt deep cuts at  NIH. It will  impact science for generations to come."

Obama "Ok these cuts will remove these services"

GOP "OBAMA IS FEAR MONGERING BECAUSE CUTS IN GOVERNMENT SERVICES MEANS THE END OF THE WORLD".

It doesn't have as much resonance as in the years after Sept. 11, and the country is war weary. Barack Obama is a weak foreign policy president, although not in ways likely to cost him politically.

The House Republicans mainly have blocking power. Woe to the republic if they didn't.

The McCain ad dubbing Barack Obama the biggest celebrity in the world back in 2008 was deadly accurate

Little did they know eight short years later, they would run a successful reelection campaign partly on limitless abortion and free contraception.

There are some points in the article that almost appear insightful to the Republican dilemma, but then these shiat-raisins are littered throughout making it hard to read without gritting your teeth.

It's hard to see Jindal and Rubio being the future of a party that has used decades of bigotry to unify scared white rural types with the rich white types that want to screw over the rural types.  With all the hatred against Obama due to his skin color, the Republicans have proven they will be a white party for the few remaining months the party has left before it implodes.

And note this isn't even taking into effect how both men have already been thrown aside by the base as 2016's earliest flavors of the month.
