TFH: "9 airports from 2313 cleared..."

I bet in 2313 they will still smell like farking Cinnabon.

Well, they are all very pretty and everything, but none of them seem to really address fixing the way you get in and out of an airport by car. The logistics of getting your suitcase out of the car at the curb remain firmly rooted in the sixties. Most of those designs still show one road in and one road out.

Denver?  Isn't the Denver airport pretty new?  Denver has lots of disposable income I guess.

The Denver airport owner threatened to move to LA if they didn't get a new airport in Denver.

Clear as mud, the construction at DIA is a new hotel and light rail station actually at the airport

Airports on water haven't been futuristic since 2008.

Um....subby, "Next generation" does not equal "next century"

Came to say this. Coulda sworn they'd opened a new one within the last 10 years.

Their post-apocalyptic New World Order systems weren't as effective as they originally hoped.  They need to re-tool.

Also why I popped into this thread.  DIA being replaced already?   WTF?

They are NEVER going to be moving from Heathrow and they god damn well know it. There's no funding, no infrastructure, and the red tape in Britain for something like that is unbelievable.

Is one of them in Denver.  Driving to Kansas to catch a flight is quite annoying.

How about the dash-across-the-active-runway-to-get-to-the-terminal one?

These designs all range from abomination to abortion, with some abysmal thrown in.

I'd go with "a pair of molted roach nymph cuticles".

That's an island, not floating.

But San Diego had proposed a floating airport going back to a citizen panel I was on in 2003 or so.  I doubt it'll happen anytime soon for a ton of reasons, but the plan was for a floating airport a few miles off Ocean Beach.
