Rick Springfield is 63? Jesus, 15 years of aging caught up to me in the last 5 minutes.

2013-02-28 06:58:19 AM
People still watch this? I remember my Grandmother tuning to ABC every day when I was a kid in the 90s to watch her stories.

It didn't "slip past".  It's pretty obvious that the headline was the joke.

/ everyone knows Rick Springfield sang the "My Sharona" song
// Or was that Michael Bolton?

No, no...Michael Bolton had that really really mega-huge album in the early 80's...the one with the werewolf video?  And it also had that really big hit about gang violence with Eddie Van Halen on guitar,  "Mull-it"....

You haven't truly lived until you've experienced Rick's acting tour de force.

BronyMedic: People still watch this? I remember my Grandmother tuning to ABC every day when I was a kid in the 90s to watch her stories.

EVERYONE watched it in the early-80's, teenage boys included.  More maybe because everyone else was watching it, but partly because the main storyline was more spy movie than romantic drama.  Something about a huge diamond and a secret formula for world domination or whatever.  I think there was a super-cool spy/agent character in there somewhere.

It's funny when the people in the comments make the joke. Not so much when it's the headline.

Also, this [toolazytopostpic.jpg] shiat has got to end too. It's like you people aren't even trying anymore.

Wrong one subby. You're thinking of Dusty Springfield, the wrestler from the 90's.

If you mean Dusty Springfield, the American Dream....that would be the 70s.  I think her daughter, Dustin Springfield wrestled in the 90s.

He was great in the SoundCity documentary. Showed how talented he is and the emotion he shared for the studio and father figure that helped him get his start was wonderful too.

See SoundCity.

Somewhere near 2000, we went to see Joe Cocker and Springfield opened for him.  He smashed his guitar on stage like he was some really hip, Robert Plant-type rock star.

The entire audience laughed at him.

It's not the dulcet timbres that we used to hear from Eddie Money back in the 1980s, when he sang "Party All The Time".

And the old farker still puts on a great concert. Saw him in 2011 at the Orlando Hard Rock, and the cougars were out in force.

=====================================================

Maybe that's why all musicians do tons of drugs. Music makes ya younger looking and so lady luck/god/nature doesn't want anyone to find out and so they're all pre-disposed to doing age-inducing drugs.
