(Indiegogo)   Farker manages an unsigned band that has snagged a spot on Pain of Salvation's tour. Of course this opportunity comes with costs. We have no label support. If you support independent music, think about sparing some change to make this happen   (indiegogo.com) divider line 38

Progressive Super Metal

farking genres are getting out of hand. What does that even mean?

Also, not to be a dick, but why the cheesy video and no samples of your music. Why would I support a band when I have no idea what they sound like.

Anywho, all that being said, good luck!

There's a music video in the Indegogo gallery page. As for the genre in question, the band has a bit of a sense of humor. The self-proclaimed "progressive super-metal" was born from the same angst about all these genres "getting out of hand", as you say. So they make fun of it.

Thanks.

Pain of Salvation is touring?  Are they finally coming to 'merica?

If you like Rock, Metal, Prog Metal, or just interesting stuff, you need to grab a Pain of Salvation CD.

Yessss, they're coming to the states.  Too bad the closes they come to me is about 2,000 miles away.

One of the few active bands I have yet to see, and would give Lance Armstrong's remaining nut to see.

It doesn't seem like it would be much of a sacrifice to give Lance Armstrong's remaining nut to anyone, it's not like your gonna end up feeling the sacrifice there.

I'd gladly give his remaining nut for a piece of beef jerky and a half tank of gas!

Pain of Salvation (no relation) has a really good cover of Hallelujah.

FTL: <I>"We've been hoping for an opportunity like this for years now, and it's finally happened. "</i>

You have been hoping for years, but not actually preparing?  Sorry, Subby...I guess you know what the difference between serious musicians and wannabe musicians is now.  The wannabes have hope in one hand and shiat in the other.

Reminds me of this:

Bill:  ...Wyld Stallyns will never be a super band until we have Eddie Van Halen on guitar.
Ted: Yes Bill, but I do not believe we will get Eddie Van Halen until we have a triumphant video.
Bill: Ted, it's pointless to have a triumphant video before we even have decent instruments.
Ted: Well how can we have decent instruments when we really don't even know how to play.
Bill: That is why we need Eddie Van Halen.
Ted: And that is why we need a triumphant video.

Jeff Buckley has the best cover of Hallelujah I've ever heard.  How do you get Pain of Salvation (no relation) from Pain of Salvation (the kick ass band)?

I was unaware of your band before it was cool to never hear of them

My band has 7-8 CDs out and a couple of DVDs.  What has your band done?

That was awful. Are you bringing your autotuner on tour? You should really focus on your IT helpdesk jobs.

It's like that depressing documentary about Anvil except you never had any initial success.

Where do you find the time to rehearse your Dad Metal band when Keegan has so many extracurricular activities for you to take her to? Have you embarrassed her by playing her 8th grade social yet?

What kind of merch is available? I mean, I assume I can get an embroidered Imminent Sonic Destruction patch for my jean jacket, but how about a logoed bandana/cowboy hat combo?

You better have a bad boy pyro show, Great White style. Don't fear the reaper, you guys.

More merch ideas:  invent some logoed leopard spandex leggings that show off a guy's hog. For real men only, not for you jegging hipsters who make me uncomfortable.

Guys, Rusty, the one member of Imminent Sonic Destruction who never got rid his hair is here to recommend the only goatee dye I use, Badass Beard BalmTM. You'll kick up you look from trucker to progressive super metal rocker in minutes. Pair that look with a sleaveless jean jacket and you will be up to your shins in 40 year old bar hag poon like whoa.

And of course you need some super sexy logoed halter tops for the ladies. Make sure you sell them pre cigarette burned for fashion.

Koggie: Thanks.

Potential fans like me aren't gonna donate unless we get some merch. Maybe an airbrushed tee that has a portrait of the boys jamming with Kid Rock? Get me one of those and I'm in for a sawbuck.

So, if you're Kincaid and Rusty is Danny Bonaduce, is your windowless tour/rape van painted all fly like the Partridge Family's bus?

Can I Cameron Crowe your tour? I'm not a teenager, but I promise not to go beyond the friend zone with the Denny's waitresses you will bed along the road.

We're a bit ecclectic in our tastes.  It is difficult to get anybody to record us when the butt trumpet and skin flute aren't tuned and the bongo player prefers to tap away on hookers butts

All joking aside, the band in question isn't half bad.  It's not my thing but they have talent.  Their Recurring Themes album is on Spotify if you're too cheap to buy anything.

To be fair, you can't blame the band for that. That is the manager's job.  Oh wait...Subby <B>is</b> the manager.  *facepalm*  Never mind.

Find a venue and work out a deal to do a show to raise money for the tour. Ask fans to kick in a little extra at the door or some such.

lol - sometimes opportunities like this come quickly and are not planned. ISD is on the bill and will be on the tour. The second billed band, Kingcrow, has label support and is also fundraising through Indegogo.

This is one of many fundraising avenues. Your suggestion is already underway. Thanks for the suggestion though.
