During his palimony case in the 90's, local newspapers and tv stations were forbidden from mentioning that Van Cliburn was gay.

Surprised to see that they still can't.

I remember seeing him perform with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music when I was in high school. A remarkable artist. May he rest in peace.

I honestly did once play on the same steinway grand piano that he had recorded on at Columbia Records. It now sits in Charles Osgood's living room. He was an amazing pianist.

/mercifully never did see his organ
