I don't know why, but this made me chuckle:
"I saw the car slide off the edge," Gary Schilz said. "It was almost surreal. That's not something that normally happens."

Well, no, it's not.

I was once a passenger in a similar car crash that left us upside-down under water.

But it was in Florida - not in Montana.

And it was in a Gremlin - but it seemed like an Infiniti.

Sking? Ah, yeah, when I was a kid, I sked all over the place. Good times, good times.

They would've been safely skiing if the slopes hadn't been closed. When will Michelle Obama be held accountable for nearly drowning these women to death?

Just behind Campbell's car, Ron and Jenny Schilz and their 19-year-old son Luke were traveling from their home in Missoula to Lost Trail for a day of skiing with their family friend, Tim Holmberg.

"I saw the car slide off the edge," Gary Schilz said. "It was almost surreal. That's not something that normally happens."

Luke was out of the car before it rolled to a stop and plunged down the hillside and into the icy river, said his mother.

Two questions:
1) Who is Gary Schilz?
2) Did Ron and Jenny Schilz's car also plunge down the hillside? (with Luke escaping just before?)
3) wtf did I just read? (ok i lied, 3 questions)

This is like that "kayaker saves dog on ice" story. It made sense until,  oops, now it doesn't any more.

Luke Schlitz, 19 years old - remember that name (and this story) next time someone starts a "kids these days..." rant.

As I enjoy a mid 40's day while looking out my window at the mountains bereft of snow, I ask myself: Is it really so bad that we have so many global warming deniers? It's working out nicely for me (until the farmers lose their crops this year, but hey, who needs to look past today!?!).

If it had been a Pacer, you'd have been in a fishbowl inside a lake. How cool would that be?

me thinks this lady doesn't drive as well as she says she does. being as the traffic in front of her didn't plunge one by one down a mountain.

weeks ago was behind 3 SUV's. while staring i realized the Lexus in the middle was identical to the Jeep behind it, except for the logo and a huge chrome trim. and i'm sure a much bigger monthly payment.

OK, fark, this is what the hero tag is for, NOT some 95 year old biddie who survived Pearl Harbour by hiding under a filing cabinet in the office she worked in. NOR is it for a 70yo ex marine core farktard who gets robbed of $400, then decides to use his car to smash the robbers knees into a wall, firing his gun out the window, after a 6 mile chase across town, endangering everyone in his path because "My training kicked in, and that money was ... em.. for my sick grand daughter, yeah"

Learn appropriate useage.

Downhill skiing?

Wtf kind of skiing do you do that isn't downhill subby? I've never seen someone with a snowmobile towing a fat bastard back up the slopes like a boat.

Huh? Really? Sled skiing is very popular, two riders on the snowmobile and one in tow. As well people actually ascend mountains using touring bindings and climbing skins on the bases of their skis, when they reach the top the remove them and ski down. It is my preferred way to travel as touring gear is cheap compared to $15000.00 for a snowmobile, as well it is great conditioning and good style. I do the odd day on the snowmobile to access places that would be impossible to day trip.

Um... Cross country skiing is a kind of skiing that you do that is *not* downhill. Kind of common, actually. Pretty fun and a good workout to boot.

Some of you are confusing "downhill skiing" with "alpine skiing."

"Downhill" is a racing style of alpine skiing.
