"It gets to be jet-engine loud," said Falmouth resident Neil Andersen. He and his wife Betsy live just a quarter mile from one of the turbines.

Four football fields away and it's as loud a jet?  Alrighty then.  Turn down your hearing aid, Neil.

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: Instead of such beautiful, pure music of the Pilgrims and Puritans, today the cheap "brothel house" music of ancient shamanic drummers is heard in every elevator, restaurant, and grocery store of a once blessed and formerly Christian country.

Other styles have also resulted from this Rule of Accent being violated such as soft rock (soft, sensual backbeat), disco (fast, rapid backbeat), metal (violent, aggressive backbeat), and hard rock (constant barrage of the backbeat).

"Tubular organs"?

SO RAD!!!

Favouriting you as Soft Sensual Backbeat.

I've stood close to one of those big propellers, and while it IS loud, (and I wouldn't want to live next door to it), I don't think it would bother me at 1/4 mile away.

Wind farm illness is a psychosomatic disorder caused by suggesting wind farms can cause illness. Once introduced to a community this psychosomatic illness can become wide spread. It is a close relative to cell-tower illness, which can affect people before the tower is even turned on.

As a certified hypochondriac, I can attest to the power of the mind to make the body sick. And once you start to think you can hear a sound, you're going to hear it.

Think about your ears ringing. Think about it real hard.
You hear that?

Just wait until the sound hits the seminiferous tubloidial buttnoids.

Seriously? I can't even get ancient shamanic drumming on the PA system of my local Whole Foods. Not for lack of trying, even breaking and entering.

Wait, I've said too much already.

Do the powerlines still give us cancer? Guess not... I remember that being the big scare awhile back... We've just moved on to windmills, smart meters, GMO, and fluoride (again...no KGB or UN this time but CANCER!)...

That was a lot of crazy to wade through, but oh man I wish I'd read that while majoring in music many years ago. Only because my friends and I would've found it hilarious to shout out "the backbeat is the beat of the Devil!" during rehearsals.

But I attended an evil government indoctrination center, er, public university, so there's no hope for me anyway.

My home bill topped $350 last month (50 cents per kwh), and the power company says its going up again...
This is a problem I wouldn't mind having.

/Writing the check rustles my jimmies far more than wind turbines shake my tubulars.

That wouldn't happen to have Otis Air National Guard base right near there would it?  Hey, Neil... I think I know what's causing those jet noises.

I get low-frequency diesel engine noise reverberating in my house, 2 miles away from the railyard. The severity varies but it can be irritating as fark. Who are we to poo-poo this guy's claims?

I have to believe there is some impact to sound and vibration in close proximity but it would not seem to have great deal of range.  It seems like the reference he makes to the blades at their low point would be easily remedied by a good planting plan.

.... I got to the part where he (?) was nearly lead astray from the path of righteousness by an Amy Grant demo, and I just blue-screened.

Well, there could be something to this. Elephants communicate with each others over long distances by using low frequency sound. If you google infrasound, I think you'll find that it has some interesting properties, and can affect structures and people in unexpected ways, even over distances. I think I've even heard of it being used as a siege weapon in Panama, and more recently.
