I suppose it really just depends on your goals and what you consider to be a success, Subby.

If I had been the judge, I would have said fine.

"I'm sorry, my children aren't on the menu today. But I can offer you something to please your craving.

Tomorrow morning the court marshal will escort you to the county morgue.

How would you like your infant corpse cooked sir?"

When I was getting my ex parte DVOP, a man rushed into the courtroom threatening the judge with:
"I'm gonna beat you worse than I beat that c*nt! I know where you live, I'll farkin' FIND you!"
Screaming while the bailiff and another officer where taking him down. Judge sits up there unmoved by the outburst and once he's pulled out of there she looks to the recorder? woman next to her and says:
"Well, at least his attentions are on me and not on his ex..."

One has to be a whole other level of crazy to threaten a farking judge. In what world would that work?

You don't threaten judges, you bribe them. Working within the system is almost always more effective than attacking it.

I've threatened a judge, and it worked.

Granted, I was maybe 12 years old, she was my neighbor, and she had a habit of forgetting to pay me for doing yardwork for her.  So, I took a stand and told her to pay up or I wouldn't mow her stupid lawn anymore.

While it may seem entertaining to go Borderlands 2 in the courtroom and shout "I want to eat your babies!" This action may prove to be unwise and result in the Judge saying "Son, this may sting a bit."

Bond was denied Tuesday for a Cobb County man that allegedly threatened to eat a judge's children after killing his family.

A few years ago, I was prosecuting a man for murder.  During the trial, the defendant flipped out when an objection was overruled and threatened to kill the judge, the jury, two deputies, and his own attorney.  The judge was completely unflappable.  She just said "Is that so, Mr. Defendant," then had him removed.  She didn't even blink when he tried to jump the table.  It was great!
Judges have to put up with so much crap!

Not quite to that level, but there was this woman completely going off on one of the Wayne County judges in family court, Judge Cholack, when he refused to grant her recusal motion.  She was calling him every name in the book, and he's a really even-keeled judge too, so he was just sitting there trying to calm her down and explain that it's his ruling and she can appeal it to the chief judge or the court of appeals if she disagrees with it.  She's just screaming over him about how horrible he is and about how he gave her ex everything and her nothing, etc. while he's telling her to just appeal it if she doesn't like it.  He didn't even tell the bailiff to arrest her or anything.

He just asked the bailiff to remove her from the courtroom, and the bailiff gently nudged her out screaming all the way.  He then moved on with business as usual.  I've never seen that judge hold anyone in contempt before, even when they frankly needed to be.  If that lady had pulled that shiat with Judge McCarthy or Judge Adams, she'd have been sitting in a cell for the next 24-48 hours.

This is why defendants should hire enough private security to accompany them to court so that the judge's ability to use force would be neutralized in a standoff between the defendant's guards and the bailiffs. You can't expect a real negotiation if you don't have a level playing field.

Negotiating a payment is "threatening" someone now? Dammit I need to report the banks who service my student loans for threatening me on a monthly basis for years now.

It was a pretty aggressive negotiation on my part, and I did threaten to cease my services.

She's just lucky I didn't report her child labor practices.
