In semi-related news, I'm now craving a Surge... Or some ecto-cooler.

Omnis_evil_twin: PacManDreaming: DenisBergkamp: Coffee jello doesn't really turn me like the others do. I love coffee and most things coffee flavoured though it could be some kind of weird abomination that I'm thankful for never trying.

Ever notice that there are some flavors that just don't seem suited to certain food items? I mean, say grape flavoring for example. People like grape flavored candy, gum, soda, Popsicles and the like, but no one seems to want grape cake, cookies, ice cream or pie. We make strawberry and cherry and other fruit flavored versions of those desserts, so why not grape? I've thought about this for years and no one seems to have a satisfactory answer.

Hmmm...maybe I'll make a grape cake this weekend.

Plenty of grape flavored things in Japan.  Cookies, ice cream, danish, cake, pie and others.  I think it's more an issue of grapes going all mushy when they cook.  Not very pleasant to look at or put in your mouth.

It might have been root beer, I see they made all three.

Kool-Aid made a chocolate or cola flavored drink mix. I can't remember which it was, but it was sure nasty.

I found myself actually craving some chocolate flavored jello.  My best guess is that it probably wouldn't have tasted much different than the 100's of other artificially chocolate flavored candies and products on the shelf these days -- it would just have a unique texture.

If I wanted to eat "food" from a jar, I'd stick to peanut butter or cheese whiz.  Or marshmallow cream.  Or maraschino cherries.

/I might be single
