I agree with the parents and lawyer.  We need wholesome activities that build character like dodge ball were you can torment those who are week or different.

Everything related to religion, even tangentially, should be banned from schools.

This is the kind of case that will likely get tossed out of court and we'll never see a follow-up here.

When you are so indoctrinated in your spirituality that you've never learned anything about any others you become morally bankrupt.

The kids, with these parents, don't have a chance in life.

Well, since a lot of Conservatives insist that we are a Christian nation and the Constitution is based on Christian principles I guess most of American History is hosed.

No more reading.  Might use that skill to pick up a bible.

No more math, might try to convert feet to cubits.

Guess it's weightlifting classes all day every day.

So not only am I not going to exercise my right to not have my child participate, which is an option, but I'm going to ensure that no one else can participate either. Why? Because I'm a ignorant, self righteous douce bag.

Everyone knows that it's anti-American and goes against the teachings of the Christian religion to be super flexible.

Traditional PE classes can be seen as an outgrowth and continuation of the "Muscular Christianity" movement of the 19th century.

Just change the name from "Yoga Class" to "Spout Stretch" and call it good.

This is far from the only one of its kind (well it may be the first one to hit the courts instead of the school board meetings).  The American fundies have had a hardon about yoga for years.

Is "traditional physical education" the kind where the student carries a ball across a line and then thanks God?

No, the memo you missed was entitled: "These are the kind of assholes who think it's more important to push religion than physical education in schools".

Or, more succinctly, it was called "Gold Spider deliberately missed the point to incorrectly whine about imbeciles being treated unfairly".

//Ok, that wasn't more succint.

It's why they are Christians.  Being stupid, gullible, tacky and rude are all qualities American Christianity encourages.  To make matters worse, they think everyone in America is required to follow the Bible and be equally moronic as them.

Christians are pretty much the biggest reason why America doesn't have much of a future.

Normally I'd say these people made poor life decisions and their health is suffering as a result, but around here that's called "bootstrappy".

I recently moved to San Diego from the Midwest.

And somehow I now live in a far more derpy environment than ever before.  We even have our own creation museum, fer chrissake!

I feel like I should have read the small print better.
