I think we should carpet bomb the whole country.  With packets of rice and propaganda.  Not huge sacks, just rations for a day or two.  But do it every day.  Feed the people better than the government does and let nature take its course.

It's not a terrible idea. It's not like he's going to make things any worse.

I think the South does that with baloons.

No country is ever going to do anything to help North Korea. Destabilization could lead to millions of refugees flooding China and Seoul, possibly leading to another world war. The situation there is just f****** hopeless and a terrible tragedy.

It's not going to happen overnight, but never seems a bit extreme.

It makes me think of District 9 or Alien Nation.

Guys, this is great. Rodman is going to play a pickup game with south Korea's best.

his ego won't let him lose. Once he wins the north Koreans will murder him for capital crimes.

I thought this was going to be about their national football team, who as I recall were subjected to six hours of public humiliation at home and then possibly disappeared after being gubbed 7-0 by Portugal in the last World Cup.

In their defence, they did play very cleanly. Not a single dive, grab, illegal tackle, shirt-pull or any other dirty trick at all from the Best Koreans. Their supporters were quite creepy. Clearly they were hand-picked party elite given precise and exacting instructions on how to behave in perfect unison.

Um, we've basically been doing that off and on for years.

Quick, when he lands in N.K. revoke his American Passport.

Why? It's not illegal to go there.

I like the CIA's plan here.  While they're at it, the US should threaten to send Rodman to Syria if they don't shape up.

Some should tell them that if they hold him hostage we won't dare attack for fear of hurting him.

I like your optimism. Here's a link to testimony from a recent defector.

They were talking about this today on Pardon The Interruption.  Apparently the late Kim Jung Il was a huge fan of American basketball.  There's pictures of Michael Jordan everywhere in NK, I guess.

I believe skinink is hopeful that Dennis Rodman will not be able to return to the US if his passport is revoked, thereby creating a Rodman-free zone as it were

Interesting, but he never says it'll never happen. A few decades would be a responsible estimate, but I don't think it's impossible for them to get things improved.

Jong Un is pretty well educated in Western schools. It's not going to happen overnight, but over a few decades seems possible.

It's something their dictator and our dictator have in common.
