It shows a total lack of dignity and decorum.

O'Reilly that is, not Mrs. Obama.

That's one thing I've learned online... you better do a quick google search before you spout of at the mouth.  Obviously they don't teach that at journalist camp.

Only Republicans and the Iranian government seem to be concerned about Michelle's Oscar appearance.

Why? It's not like their core audience knows how to google.

By all accounts, Laura Bush was a fine First Lady. Too bad she came with George.

Yeah she was just fine, rather innocuous really. Didn't really say or do much of anything memorable.

I seriously doubt she ever came with George.

Why would they need to?  Fox News viewers don't do research on their own.  As long as nobody on Fox points this out, they'll never know.

why am I supposed to care about this?

2013-02-26 01:28:54 PM
Thats what the First Lady does traditionally. First Lady is always going for good PR.

Why anyone should give a shiat I dont know

2013-02-26 02:24:34 PM
Maybe they should try to impeach her.

Because the TV people are angry about it.

They offered Michelle Obama the same kind of pre-taped appearance as Laura Bush, but she angrily yelled "fark it!  We'll do it live!"

I didn't appreciate Michelle Obama's 2010 Oscar appearance, either.

O'Reilly's just pissed that nobody produced his screenplay where Osama Bin Laden was actually taken down by a crack team of right wing talk show hosts and rewarded with a Palin/Bachmann hot oil tickle fight.

Either that, or he bet heavily on "Beasts of the Southern Wild" so he could recycle his rant about how Dubya was the hero of Katrina.

And that's an image I'll have difficulty unseeing... Anyone have any mindbleach?

What should she have been doing at that time?

You know...you never see them in the same place at the same time.

And it makes me wonder......

2013-02-26 03:46:07 PM
One of my extreme-right wing Facebook friends took it on himself to live-blog the Oscars for whatever reason. He had a comment about every single thing that occurred. When Michelle Obama appeared he completely fell silent except to say Argo was a good movie.

Then, the NEXT day, he started posting all sorts of arguments about how inappropriate it was, how it was propaganda, etc.

Like all right-wingers, he had to wait until he read the angry response from his heroes before he knew how he was supposed to react.

2013-02-26 03:48:24 PM
Good thing it was a live feed from the White House so she didn't have to drive and potentially kill someone.

I wish I could find the collection of vicious and racist Twitter reactions to her appearance.  I think it was a redlit Fark link from the other day.

Whatever libtwerp.  We Real Americans all remember you screeching about the "War on Mama's Family re-runs" when she announced her pro-literacy campaign.

But, that was different, you know, 'cos Laura Bush didn't look so...well, you know...I mean, do I have to come right out and...uh...ah, well, that is...she didn't...look so...oh, c'mon, you know...so..."socialist?"

Still, great work Laura B did with turning all those gang members' lives around.

If Bill O'reilly and the rest of you pathetic, maladjusted conservative malcontents would just cry a little harder, Obama's election will be totally undone, I'm sure.

Isn't it time to put ignorant meanspirited shiat like O'Reilly out to pasture?

Yeah, we put up with it for a good decade or so.  It's time to start reshaping what acceptable punditry should look like in this country.

No outrage here.  I will concede, though, that this and other appearances at events that don't benefit her various projects and causes seems somewhat beneath her status.

You know what else Laura Bush never did? Mississippi Black Snake.

www.moneyandshit.com

But in a serious note, there is a simple formula to see how good Obama was vs. Bush.

How many times did MSNBC mention Laura Bush from 2001-2009?
How many times did FoxNews mention Michelle Obama from 2009 - 2013?

Pro-rate for days in office and there you have it.  I am pretty sure higher mentions of Mooooochelle means that they got nothing on Obama.
