I am definitely in the Anne Hathaway camp.

2013-02-26 09:44:31 AM
She's a fine actress, but she tries far too hard to be likable. It seems forced.

How could you possibly hate Anne Hathaway?

Mentat: How could you possibly hate Anne Hathaway?

Fark her.

And by that I mean I would really like to fark her.

2013-02-26 10:23:48 AM
I just want to see her naked, again, preferably this time oiled up and rubbing her body on Scarlett Johansson and Alison Brie.

2013-02-26 10:28:34 AM
It's because she's like every annoyingly over-affected drama club student ever.

2013-02-26 10:57:22 AM
My husband said during the Oscars "Ugh she's so annoying". I reminded him that she's gorgeous and everyone wants to do her to which he replied "I only want to do Catwoman Anne Hathaway". Anyway, It was the first time I had ever heard anyone criticize Hathaway. Yet since then everyone is railing on her.

coco ebert: It's because she's like every annoyingly over-affected drama club student ever.

And that is completely why I think.

The drama kids didn't annoy me much in HS although the NYU Tischies could be insufferable.

that sounds remarkably like the screenplay i've been working on...

What's all the hate on Ricky Schroder, I liked him in Silver....Oh, Rob Schneider....never mind

FTFA: She does not yet quite seem a grown woman.

Are any of us really grown?

She's fine as an actress, but I've got to imagine being in her presence for more than 30 seconds is just soul draining.  And why the fark is she always out of breath and gasping for air every time she wins an award ?  She needs some serious cardio training.

coco ebert: It's because she's like every annoyingly over-affected drama club student ever.

Exactly. She's a drama geek. And I think that's why I like her. She's a drama geek that made good. There are so many actors out there who are in the business only for fame and fortune. She strikes me as the type of person who is in because she loves to act. And that's all she ever wants to do. Like if she wasn't acting on the big screen, she'd be standing on a soap box at some corner doing monologues. It's rare to see that unjaded passion in Hollywood. It's refreshing.

I didn't know I was supposed to hate Anne Hathaway until the internet told me a few weeks ago.

With her obnoxious grasping for fame and attention, Hathaway is just like Julia LD, but with talent.

Well, I figured after the Christina Hendricks hate, it was someone else's turn. Turns out, it's Anne.
Keep flauntin those boobies, Anne!

She recently wed boyfriend Adam Shulman in a Valentino gown.

But what was she wearing?

I get this criticism - actors can be annoying - it just comes across to me as if people making this argument are basically criticizing an actor for being, well, too actor-y  And that I don't get the point of.

Also, in my experience it seems that women are the really polarized ones over Hathaway. This article isn't the first time I've seen or heard words to the effect of "she's too perfect! I hate her!", and most of the biatching seems to stem from that sort of sentiment.

Men tend to just think she's either really hot or kinda weird looking, and don't really put any more thought than that into it. Although I'm sure there are exceptions...

Subby is wrong. I am neither. Anne Hathaway is a crappy-to-mediocre actress, and Rob Schneider is really only funny as Adam Sandler's sidekick in goofy Sandler movies.

I seem to remember mentioning my dislike for Hathaway around the time she was announced as Catwoman, and the Internet shouted at me that she was the most beautiful, most talented actress EVAR. Now, somehow, the Internet has decided to see things my way.

My plan is working. Next, you will all start disliking Felicia Day. I have seen it. The Mighty Favog has spoken.

/I'm not really The Mighty Favog.
//Points if you even know who The Mighty Favog is.

I interviewed her once for my college paper. Her schedule was such that I had to interview her in the living area of her hotel suite. Unfortunately, I hadn't had my lunch before the interview and I was starving. There was a big bowl of grapes sitting on the table between us and despite the obvious hunger in my eyes, the biatch never offered me any. My stomach was rumbling so loud she could hear it, and I nearly passed out from low blood sugar. But I realized afterwards that the grapes were probably sour and I didn't really want them.

If she's not your thing, whatever. If you hate her, the problem is probably with you.

That's a pretty narrow field of view.  Anne is pretty good, but not great.  Schneider is definitely not a comedic anything.  However, the chances are good that you'll have people that hate both.

Prospero424: "she's too perfect! I hate her!"

I think its more of a situation where she doesn't actually have a personality because she is so damn concerned about coming off in just the right manner.

Okay, I don't give two shiats about Anne Hathaway. But you don't  dare rip on the beautiful, funny Julia Louise-Dreyfuss! I will white-knight for her!

If I ever get stuck in a blizzard in the mountains, I hope Anne Hathaway is nearby so that I can crawl completely inside her gigantic farking mouth and stay warm.

I would like to plow her. That is all.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say that I enjoyed her in the movie Havoc, not the least for these (NSFW and NSFW) images.

Also, Love and Other Drugs for much the same (NSFW and NSFW) reasons.

Not that her being willing to be nude onscreen is what makes her a good actress. But it sure makes me more interested in watching whatever she's in.

ZeroCorpse: I seem to remember mentioning my dislike for Hathaway around the time she was announced as Catwoman, and the Internet shouted at me that she was the most beautiful, most talented actress EVAR. Now, somehow, the Internet has decided to see things my way.

My recollection is most people were up in arms and enraged with her being cast as Catwoman, only to be pleasantly surprised when they saw her performance. And she is probably more popular now than ever in her career.

Just because I'm curious, humor me:  I heard a bunch of people from different places complaining that she shouldn't have won the award because she didn't spend enough time on screen in Les Miserables.  Which leads me to the obvious question: Exactly how does one qualify as a "supporting" actor/actress anyway?  Time on screen? Being in the movie but not being the star? It feels like some closely guarded secret, like what the 23 flavors of Dr Pepper are or what the 11 herbs & spices of KFC are or some such shiat.

2013-02-26 12:12:47 PM
That article was dripping with barely concealed disgust for this talented and very attractive thespian. Good grief.

2013-02-26 12:13:16 PM
Looking at her current figure makes me uncomfortable. I hope she starts eating again now that awards season is over (yes, I know she dropped the weight for Les Mis). She used to have a great body, I thought.

Her gauntness only makes her facial features seem even larger, almost cartoonishly so.

2013-02-26 12:16:54 PM
She has very large eyes.  I didn't notice at first but now I can't help noticing.

Her character dies fairly early in the movie but her solo is undoubtedly platinum-award winning.
She somehow sings and emotes total defeat at the same time. It's breathtaking (and I'm not even gay).
