You want verbs, I can play verbs, played a verb in my high school production of "My Fair Lady". I can play nouns, adjectives, villains, extras, whatever you need. What will it take for me to land this part? What do you want to hear? Do you want to hear the words "I will suck you off"? Because I will say those words. Using any verb you like.

"i hotmailed it to him"
"I swinglined all the copies"
"yeah, I dysoned the floors"
"i'm going to yahoo the scores from last night"

Those are all awful, and yahoo may be the worst one.  Go ahead and bing it.

Telecommuting is one of the great things the internet has offered society.  Why the fark would Yahoo, an internet based business, not want to take advantage of that?

There's nothing wrong with Google being a verb, it's not like Google is a fad like Twitter.

So, no telecommuting for Yahoo. I guess they lose access to the talent pool wherever they don't have an office, then.

Is it bad that "email" is a verb?  "I emailed that biatch and told her to fark off!"

One of two things:

He had data (or just believes) that they are losing valuable resources because people are "only" doing their jobs and not collaborating in dozens of tiny ways every day.

OR

He can't stand the idea that some people might be comfortable, relaxed or otherwise be able to accomplish other activities in life besides WORK during the hours for which HIS company are paying people.

It's a she. And a kind of hot one. That said, my guess it number two. Farking micro-managers are the worst kind of people. Is the work getting done properly and on schedule? Yes? Then why the fark do you care if they do it at your office, at home or on the farking moon.

THIS.

An I have no problems with "Yahoo" becoming a negative verb meaning "screwing your employees out of work because they telecommute"

This policy will die a quiet death at Yahoo the first time they realize a critical project can't be delivered because the 8 guys who knew the code inside and out were drummed out of the company because of this policy and went to work for Google or Microsoft, and the only people left were the ones too dumb to find work at a company that respects its employees.

I know this Meyer woman is supposed to be some genius, but I'm not feeling anything about the new yahoo home page, and this decision seems a bit uneven and harsh. Maybe it's a loyalty test.

I use several features of Yahoo, but none that really need 'fixing'. As long as the fantasy sports stuff keeps working, I say let 'em WFH, blondie.

I had a micromanaging boss a few years ago. The more she micromanaged me, the worse my performance got. Why take any initiative when you're just going to be told it's wrong anyway?

I heard "yahoo" used as a verb when I was a kid in the 1980's - it meant, "to shoplift beer."

Your first mistake is expecting some cock up his ass executive to have even one half of a clue about anything regarding anything.  Those guys get paid to suck other executive dick and shake hands with people who aren't quite important enough to give head.  They don't get paid to make sense or, often times, even be successful.

Still applies here. If you're one of the best & brightest and you're still working at Yahoo, well, you're a yahoo. There are other companies out there that are quite happy to provide telecommuting support, provided you're actually working your ass off. If you're a slacker, well, you're already a yahoo, so you might as well stay (or quit.) If you're talented, though, that's the kind of stupid-ass move a CEO makes when she believes her managers know better than her individual contributors, and doesn't realize that her managers are part of the problem, and so you should probably not remain a yahoo and move on to an employer that has a clue.
