Me too, dammit!

Lt. Cheese Weasel: Great headline subs, sucky song.  I hate you.

It's not that bad of a song really. I don't love it and I never bought the album, but I used to like it.

There were many many songs from the '80s that were far worse.

Okay, about 30 seconds into it and maybe it does suck. Wow - this just goes to show how much the rest of the music from the '80s sucked.

Okay, you're right. it does suck.

Thanks, subby, now I have the remix version in my head, too.

Brian had sex
With a really dumb girl
Now he's taking his friend Stewie
To get some ice cream
In his car.. *click*

Oh you're a bad sport.

Say what you will about the song, but that keyboardist in the video was giving his little finger the workout of a lifetime. Thing must've been the size of his forearm once the shoot was completed.

Well there's a minute I'll never get back.  Why cover a song and just do it note for note? Not bring some, ahem, creativity?
Unless you don't hav....
nevermind.

had a co-worker that would whistle an earworm first thing in the morning while walking past the ladies in the customer service area on the way to get coffee. mess them up every day. walk past the girls in the afternoon, one would be humming or singing a line without even realizing it.

Fine them big for each farking car.
Hit them in the wallet so hard it makes change in china.

The fuel that did make it into the water wasn't a significant amount, he said, because such cars are transported with empty tanks. While any oil leaked is "technically a violation of Washington state law," he said the amount around the barge shouldn't hurt the nearby sea lions, which barked as crews worked.

Yeah, right.
Each car has gas, oil, battery acid, etc. and each fluid counts as one fine.
Nail them to the wall like jesus.

I'm not entirely convinced by your meter, Subby, but I like the cut of your jib nonetheless.

Here in Georgia, scrap yards are required to drain all fluids and remove the battery before crushing, if Canada has the same law the only leakage would be residual, probably less than a quart per car.

/Spent 6 months installing computer systems for scrap yards, when state law made them keep track of who they were buying all that copper pipe from.

Pffft part timers.  They've been stealing the aluminum street light poles off of Rt 95 in broad daylight.
That sort of thing usually gets a "meh" from me but the Broad Daylight part, well that's just a lot of grudging respect there.   For the uninformed, this part of Rt 95 carries in excess of 175k vehicles per day - on four lanes - no hiding, anywhere.

Happy Hours: Okay, about 30 seconds into it and maybe it does suck. Wow - this just goes to show how much the rest of the music from the '80s sucked.

It didn't suck. It was minimalist. There was a huge influx of new technology in the form of mixers and sequencers, but they were very very limited as to what they could do, at least compared with a laptop running ProTools today. Creating something interesting with what they had was an exercise in patience and creativity. Granted, some of the music sucked, but Numan did pretty well. And the bass shadowing the silly synth line sounds great on headphones.

I learned while working for the 1996 Olympics, wearing a reflective vest, clipboard, walkie talkie and hard hat and you can do just about anything with no one noticing or caring.

There was a 'mob hit' in Toronto at a restaurant patio in broad daylight a summer or two ago, shooter in a hard hat and vest.  Those two things were all just about everyone remembered.  (he was arrested a month or two later)

I get what you're saying. I still couldn't listen to the whole song though. And I don't ever remember hearing any other song from that guy even though I probably did hear a couple of others.

He's far from being the worst thing about the '80s, but he's also pretty farking far from being one of the best things about the '80s.

The best thing about the '80s is they're over....but then it got replaced by the '90s.
