Lith: Should have stayed off his lawn

fta Houghton continued to make threats against his neighbor after his arrest and "even eluded to putting out a 'contract' on Michael's life," the report states.

A man's got to know his limits

If only he had used a gun, then he could have claimed SYG and been called a hero for defending himself against the unarmed intruder in his neighbor's yard.

Betcha a dose a Schmeckler's powder would cure up that chicanery.

So many people have machetes these days. They are great for hacking through underbrush, but terrible for actually trying to kill someone.

I blame the movie Spy Kids for the recent proliferation of this much maligned blade.

If he had a gun he may have accomplished something.

Thankfully most people have those skinny little ones they sell in stores. I once knew a schizophrenic guy who'd make insane machetes that were heavy enough to lop someones head off. Had nice antler handles, too.

Which sounds like something one would contract from frenzied intercourse with a syphillitic zephyr.*

*A distinct possibility in a John Waters flick.

Growing up, we had several machetes. I don't remember them being especially skinny. You'd be much more likely to knock someone unconscious than lop off their head with them. Those things get dull in a hurry, but they weren't used for cutting so much as hacking and pushing.

Which is why they're such coonts.

Trees falling on your fence, that's a machete hacking.

Any typical machete just has a very small increase in size from hilt to the tip, and don't weight very much. I guess that's what i meant by skinny. His were larger overall, but also would have a bigger increase in size, so you could get much more powerful swings with that extra weight at the tip. I don't think it's the sort of thing anyone would manufacture and sell in stores for clearing brush. They were obviously crafted with violence in mind. As far as i know none were ever used for such, but they looked great.

That does it! I have made a very firm decision- I will under no circumstances book myself into the same nursing home as Danny Trejo!

I've read about 100 news articles today.  All but 2 of them contained some sort of grammar, punctuation, or syntax error.   How do news agencies think this is acceptable?  Where are the proof-readers?  UGH!

I was talking about this with someone just yesterday. They laid off copy editors to save money -- at least at the newspapers, and this is one.

These days, I'm just glad when they don't use U, R, and 2 as words.

Probably just confiscating the machete is enough. Hope they got his Hoveround, too.
