Rarely have I loathed then come to love a character as much as his on TWD.

Well, it wasn't an emmy winner, but it was still a fun movie.  Same with the first one.

With Michael Rooker as the lost McManus brother... Earl.

Willam Dafoe or GTFO.

Also Troy Duffy needs to be kept on a short leash.

... there was a Boondock Saints II at some point?

Like, that was a thing that was actually allowed to be made?

He's been on The Talking Dead couch before and he's still alive.  I don't see them killing him off anytime soon.

I like the faux "this movie is garbage" outrage for the first one. I can see legitimate gripes about the second... I had lowered expectations and was still disappointed. If you can't laugh at the rapport between Flanery and Reedus, then you've got no heart. Go back to watching Amelie or picking up college girls with Slater Kinney quotes.

But I like Amelie AND Boondock Saints :/

Didn't really see a reason for watching the sequel, tho. Quite happy with the first one. Billy Connolly is awesome.

I'll give you points for the tricky reverse-"stop liking what I don't like" and avoiding actual use of the term "hipster", but the characterization of all commentary not conforming to your viewpoint as "outrage" is a little clumsy. Some more practice and you'll stick the landing next time.

This. A complete and utter failure of a movie. It was the polar opposite of Boondock 1.

Didn't he write that one book, Ivanhoe?  I'm pretty sure it was the one about the Russian knight who chased windmills on his horse.

My friend and I killed a fifth of Beam and most of a 12er getting halfway through that movie. We just turned it off and played FIFA after that.

I have fun watching the first one...high art it ain't but there are worse ways to waste a couple hours.

And I've said it in many threads before but will say again: the sequel is pretty hilarious if you watch it as a parody of itself.  You just have to try really, really hard to forget that Duffy actually takes himself seriously.

The documentary on the making of the first Boondock Saints movie is an interesting view.

Supposedly the guys who made it cut out some of the more damming footage of Duffy because they didn't want to make it look like a hatchet job.

At least Audrey Tatou still has her original face.  Flannery's botched whatever that's supposed to be was very distracting in the sequel.  I like to pretend there was only the first one, which was ridiculous but entertaining.

Also, you have issues.

My concept for BS III is the expansion to a nation wide oganization recruiting Frank and roxy from "God bless america and Clyde Shelton from "Law abiding Citizen" reimaging the ends of those movies with Eunice showing up to recruit them.  The end of GBA just being Frank or Roxy's dream waking up to Eunice knocking on the door and her unlocking the toilet escape hatch for clyde to escape in LAC. and the end just being what Fox's character thought happened.

What? C'mon,  Boondock Saints is hilarious. Non-stop laughs. I mean, I think Willem Dafoe was the only person who knew that it was a comedy, but that's half the charm! It's like Kiefer Sutherland in "24". Wall-to-wall comedy.

Yes, I know none of them were actually intentional comedy, but with  Boondock Saints you can actually pretend that it was intentional. There are so many moments of failed comedy (the toilet? I mean come ON!) that it overflows into intentional.

Willem Dafoe, Billy Connelly, and Norman Reedus have all said that that documentary was crap, made by a couple of guys who were bitter towards Duffy.

I'll give Duffy credit for one thing, though.  He finally got a decent performance out of Julie Benz.  (Seriously, I couldn't stand her on Angel, or Dexter, or Rambo, or anything else I was unfortunate to see her in.)

Wasn't BS2 a straight to DVD affair? I can't remember. but I do remember it sucking. Hard.

Speaking of sucking, if they if they do a BS3, then they need to bring in Julie Benz again and her (not real) sister Nikki Benz and have hot sexy time all over the place.

Fun Fact:  I watched the first one based on kids on the boards in Counter Strike back in 2001-2002 saying WATCH IT, NOW...so I bought it.  And I immediately watched it again.  And again.  And again.  I've seen it over 200 times, not even joking.  I can recite the entire movie.

I didn't make it 40 minutes into #2.  I took the DVD out, put it on the shelf, and just researched the ending online.  It became so much of a joke of itself it divided by zero and exploded.  So disappointed.
