Mikey1969: uberaverage: One of the few actresses that is actually more attractive when she speaks.

I have never in my llife had any interest in a post-Oscar interview. THAT, on the other hand, was awesome. It wasn't even just the stupid questions, she was 'on' from the second she stepped in front of the mic, with the "I hope this isn't an auction, because this is worth more that that." line. Funny thing is; she was on SNL a few weeks back and I thought she sucked. Good to see her doing so well here.

SNL is a vortex that actually sucks the funny out of funny people. If they'd just told Jennifer to stand on the stage and talk about random stuff for three minutes, it would've been a hundred times funnier than the horrible material they gave her.

You know, I totally get you. It is refreshing to see true acting talent that has a lot of years -- and roles -- to enjoy creating, and a really attractive down-to-earth personality.

downtownkid: ZeroCorpse: Who?

I know, right?  She was only given the best actress Oscar on one of the most watched television shows on the planet last night, how could a cool guy like you be expected to know who she is.

Yea, it isn't like she was nominated for best actress in 2010, was in X-men first class in 2011 and starred in Hunger Games in 2012. She is just some obscure actress.

If you don't know who Jennifer Lawrence is at this point you don't care about movies.

I highly recommend Jennifer's film, Winter's Bone.  I saw it on netflix shortly before the Hunger Games came out - and was truly stunned by how amazing she was in it.  For anyone that has ever lived near or in the more rural areas of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, etc... you know kids that went through that level of poverty.  Her portrayal was just moving.

Flappyhead: I can honestly say I never really heard of her until last night.  However, I am now a fan.

That sometimes happens to me but really how could you not have heard of the Hunger Games?

Bhags: Charming, gorgeous, intelligent, good-natured, funny........how can you NOT like this girl?
The only thing I've actually seen that she's acted in, was that Bill Engvall show, which until I read it in a previous post, I didn't realize.
Having said that, and watched her interview here, I'm thinking I need to at least go watch Winter's Bone....(which was a horribly depressing book) and maybe The Hunger Games (which I hated as a book)
This is a girl to watch for an amazing future in front of her.

Her roll in the Hunger Games was crucial.  I don't know how much they paid her but it wasn't  enough.  There were other good performances (Woody Harrelson or Elizabeth Banks) but without hers it would be a flop.  Sort of like Amy Adams in Enchanted.  In the hands of a lesser actor, Enchanted would have been panned roundly but in both situations it was essential the actor carry the film in a way that exudes authenticity to what could have been schlock.

She's the girl that played the older daughter on the Bill Engvall show a few years ago.

Hmm... Nope. Still don't know her.

But I see now she was the chick who played teen Mystique in First Class (which I already stated I hated) and, yeah, she's kind of cute when she's covered in blue paint... but her performance didn't really impress me. She wasn't as bad as January Jones (a name I only know because it sounds like it should be a DC superhero's girlfriend's name) but she wasn't terribly remarkable, either.

I don't think anyone cares if you know who she is, its just kinda douchey to announce your ignorance as a point of pride.

loo-uh-vul is the preferred pronunciation right now.

The same reason that Fox News viewers take extreme pride in touting disproven-but-widely-repeated garbage: because they're encouraged to do so by their peers that they self-select.  There may be an "Entertainment" tab on here, but there's also a whole lot of "holier than thou" types that somehow are able to click into threads without noticing any of the content.

WTF does Jennifer Lawrence being completely adorable have to do with Fox farking News? Don't be a douche.

Some of Jennifer Lawrence's finer moments. She's like a live wire in interviews, painfully honest, genuinely humble, and she has absolutely no filter. Love her!

So the imperfect woman is old, fat, and smart?

No, nothing like that, I just know she was hooking up with a 16 yr old when she was 22....that she met playing Halo 2.

You realize you just made her about 20 times more attractive to most of the males posting here, right?
